Haha, well, let's put it this way: I know which major member of the Torchwood team will not be with us afterwards. But I'm assuming it will be much worse than that. Presumably the death toll will be very high, and I've finished Day 1 and can tell it's going to be bad.
But honestly, if it upsets me more than the end of "Journey's End" just did, I'll be almost impressed.
I must have some kind of sickness that I put myself through this.
Forget CoE (I personally think parts of it were brilliant, but yeah, not an easy watch) and watch "Eleventh Hour", which would be a nice pick-me-up. It's delightful. "You're Scottish! Fry something." Still one of my fave line readings ever.
CoE is tailor-made for Mark Watches' saying, "NEVER PREPARED."

Hah, thanks! I'm really surprised no one unfollowed me on Twitter last night when I basically live-tweeted all the way through "The Stolen Earth" and "Journey's End".
Uh. I found Children of Earth traumatizing to the point where I wished I hadn't watched it.

Yeah, angry just thinking about CoE right now. But I'm an angry person in general, so. And it was way worse than Journey's End. Way way worse.
It made me angry, but I'm glad I watched it.
Watching Haven right now. Groundhog Day episodes have a pretty good track record in sci fi. the X Files episode was excellent, the Stargate one was one of its funniest, the Supernatural one one of its most gutting. The Buffy one was pretty good too.
What other shows have done this well worn trope, and which failed at it?

I'm pretty impressed that so many shows take the same premise and do good things with it. I think the Buffy episode is the weakest of them all, and it's not actually that weak.
So far the Haven one is interesting, by Haven standards.
