Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Well, here's hoping Moore's post-BSG project is less cringe-worthy than David Eick's.

I googled Eick on a lark and apparently he's working on an TV adaptation of Children of Men?? (This sounds familiar. Somebody probably mentioned it upthread and I'd forgotten about it.) But why, so soon after the film? Hmmphf.

Virtuality sounds like a movie premise than one for an ongoing TV series. Well, I guess TV series has been founded on a thinner premise.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Soooo.... It's like a Star Trek Holodeck episode stretched out over an entire series?

Given how often that plotline was re-used, couldn't that be shortened to "It's like a Star Trek series?"

Serously, the holodeck malfunctioned and endangered the lives of all within more often than I had to reset my VCR clock after power outages. The Federation should have made sure that technology fell into the hands of all its enemies as a covert way to sabotage them.

I'll tune in for it. I have enough... I'm not sure faith is the right word, but let's go with it... in Ron Moore to think he can do interesting things with the premise. He certainly exceeded my expectations with BSG.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Four reasons to watch BSG. I think some of you may appreciate them more than I do.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Dude, they forgot 5 & 6.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Did anyone catch the season finale of Amsterdam? It does escape me exactly why we're supposed to feel for this guy. Showing his shady background isn't making him seem a more richer and complex character--it just doesn't encourage me to warm to him. And the whole thing with breaking up with the doctor because it's not fair to date any woman who's not the one now that he knows for sure the one is out there...that's not even followable logic, although Omar managed to convince him of it.

For OCD's sake I had to see it out, and eh...

I also found an old episode of Moonlight on my old TiVo--one with the vamp blood drug trade. I like a lot of the FX they used for the vamps, but failed to become engaged with any of the characters. They sure spent a lot of time talking about cool points. Dohring's doing just about the same character he was on Veronica Mars, so that must be nice if you're missing the show a great deal.

Did anyone catch the season finale of Amsterdam?

I did. I thought last week's ending, with him "dying," would have made for a much better series/season finale.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I agree, Kristen. But maybe they didn't want to give them an excuse to only do a half order.

BSG LOLcats. Really funny.
