Cordelia: I get it now. You're all spies. Probably all Russian. And you've brainwashed me, and want me to believe we're friends so I'll spill the beans about some nano-technology thingy that you want. Gunn: So I look Russian to you? Cordelia: Black Russian. Angel: That's a drink.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

P-C, that is how I read the situation.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I read that they're supposed to be showing both next week on BBCA. But I haven't checked the schedule.

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

Also, before everyone jumps to the wrong conclusion, remember that Amy first saw Eyepatch Woman in the orphanage, before she was captured by the Silents.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Who Ep. 6. Debet, I wondered much the same thing, but I think that the answer as to why the Doctor liquified Ganger!Amy while being solicitious about the rest may have had to do with the reason he was going back specifically to see the flesh in 'its early days.' I think that PC is right, and that rather than being a separate being, Ganger!Amy was simply a conduit for Pregnant!Amy's consciousness.

In any case, I hope the writers are good enough to realize the kind of apparent hypocrisy they've set up and do something like have Rory call the Doctor out on his actions and thereby get us an explanation of why in this case, it wasn't murder.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

P-C & Anne, true, but if you look at all the prior Gangers, there was a good amount of outrage about them, too (the whole thing about the eyes and "why"). And they were being used in the same way as Ganger-Amy.

Good point, Debet. I do still hope the show overtly addresses it in the next episode. Rory is an excellent position to do so (and I hope he brings up his time as an Auton, and the Doctor verifying his humanity).

Speaking of Rory, one thing I'm very much looking forward to next week is some good Doctor-Rory interaction. I do hope they make something of the fact that Rory is older than the Doctor in some regards.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

DW: I call HSQ. Mostly because I watched it in less-than-proper-conditions, and now I come here and read stuff and if I thought my head was all confused and boggled at first, now, after reading, a bit of "WTF" and "that episode they speak of sounds interesting. Better watch it" was added to the mix.

In other words: I have no idea what just happened there. Well, I know what happened there, but I don't know why.

BTW, Mr. Moffat. You know you just created yourself gallons of Maybe Futuristic Disappointed Fans who will use Photoshop in order to send you "why?" pictures of their eyes, right?

Actually, forget Moffat. There's a certain one responsible for a certain death of a certain Ianto that should get those eyes staring at him first.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Someone has made this helpful diagram.

Compassionately intolerant

I'm with Shir on the confusion bench.

I was completely in the Why? place when the Doctor (why do I never abbreviate that?) said, "For a very long time."

Did he _know_ that Amy was missing. If so, why wouldn't he head straight for the flesh pot to get her back?

I just don't get it. And agree that Rory was the best part of these last two eps.

I hate to commit blasphemy, but I haven't liked the last few. I hope the next brings me back in.

It's unclear when the Doctor figured it out, but I would have to guess that it was between "The Doctor's Wife" and "The Rebel Flesh." He said at the end that he needed to see the Flesh in its early stages so he could figure out how to break the signal between Amy and her ganger.
