Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I love that 11 can laugh at himself. No longer is he The Oncoming Storm, but rather he keeps trying on new silly names and discarding them as rubbish.

I'm an old-school Whovian. 9 was so different from the previous incarnations, so incredibly damaged by the Time War. Eccleston was brilliant for it. And? Hot. Tennant as 10 made another brilliant job of creating a more-or-less coherent synthesis of 9's damage and many of the traits, quirks, and mannerisms of 1-8. For my taste, appealing and sometimes compelling, not as hot as Eccleston. While I admit to not being especially enamoured of Matt Smith, I love the Doctor. 11 is that much further away from 9's trauma, and that much more the Doctor that I have loved for two and a half decades.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

So the Stargate:Universe finale was supposed to be really great last night? What happened?

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I am Tennant's girl 100000%. But I admired Eccleston's brio and subtlety immensely and I do enjoy Smith. I just don't find Smith at all sexy, unlike the other two.

Art Crawl!!!

Haven't watched the SGU finale yet. Planning on doing that tonight.

Compassionately intolerant

The SGU finale was a total let down to me. It was an entire episode in service to one decision, and its attendant smile. That was a great moment, but the rest was just ho hum.

A lot of the IO9 audience seemed to really like it. And the recap that went up was very flattering, so I was wondering. It reads well, but I have no investment in the show or characters.

River totally stole the sexy between Ten and Eleven.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

There was sexy between Ten and Eleven?

Woe to the fucking wicked.

No. I said that badly. Somewhere around the time he regenerated, River stole the sexy and kept it all for herself.

Sorry, I was just being silly.
