Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Chuck was reading A Game of Thrones on Chuck!
Oops.
From io9, Spoiler-Free Review of Doctor Who’s Next Two Episodes (I'd consider this somewhat spoilery, but nothing major. Or maybe we wer already spoiled in the previews....)
Damn. Now I'm concerned people are overhyping the new season and the two-part season opener.
Making TV Safer: Chinese Censors Crack Down on Time Travel [link]
How many of our shows would this eliminate?
Fringe! Supernatural! Stargate! Eureka! Warehouse 13! Trek!
My genre is bereft! Decimated, even.
Does it only affect those shows whose basic premise involves time travel or those that ever have time travel at ALL? Because the former would be a smaller pool.
Sarah Connor Chronicles
I believe The Magic School Bus would also be banned under this premise.
Yeah, anything Terminator related would be out.
Fringe would have to lose the Observers (and why would you want to do that?), Supernatural would lose a couple of episodes, same for Stargate...
The guidelines discouraging this type of show said that some “casually make up myths, have monstrous and weird plots, use absurd tactics, and even promote feudalism, superstition, fatalism and reincarnation.”
It all seems very capricious. Weird plots and absurd tactics could describe any number of sitcoms without anything about time travel.
