A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Bill Pullman? Wow.

Hmm.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I am perfectly willing to own my completely new gun geekery. Today is a year minus three days since I touched my first handgun, ever, and it was love.

I was out shooting my bb gun that my band leader gave me for an anniversary gift this week. I was cracking myself up with my bb gun earnestness.

And seriously, Jack's no novice with weaponry. He should know how to handle his firearm. And there he's doing it correctly, no thanks to most media.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What is with that? I didn't start falling for them until I started working with disarming, but having worked with them now, I'm all...forgive me...gun ho.

And I really need to go shooting again. I wish I didn't have headaches.

Also, go Jack!

No, I got nothing on topic. I do really like his normal sidearm, though.

Liese, did you know about the internet movie firearm database? Here's the Torchwood entry.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Haha. I do, in fact, know about that database, mostly because immediately after shooting, I thought I saw the firearm I'd used (SIG-Sauer 229) on Numb3rs and had to find out. (It wasn't, it was a 226, so I was still pretty pleased with myself for recognizing it.)

I am in *love* with their Supernatural page, as you might be completely surprised to hear. The level of detail is exquisite, and it makes me love the show more, because it's clearly a crew that loves their firearms.

So now I only cheat and use non-canon firearms in my art when I see something especially pretty. I hadn't realised there was so much canon to choose from.

I could spend all day on that site.

brillig

I got my Sig because it's what Scully uses. Plus my small hands can control it, which is not the case with any of the .45s I've tried.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Which one, Connie? Yeah, that was the biggest issue for me, and the 229 apparently has a slimmer grip available since I used it. My hands are super tiny. I have yet to have a guitar student with smaller hands, even children, which is useful when they're whining about how they can't do whatever because their hands are too small? Oh, yeah, punk?

But the great thing about that weekend is that it was focused on women, so the hand size thing came up as a point of discussion (not derision) and they were able to give practical advice on what to choose to deal with it, or different grips, or whatever.

Oh, right, thread. So, Torchwood! I hope it's good. I will be pissy if it's not good. Well, I will probably be pissy anyway, unless there's some devaluing magic that brings Ianto back.

Compassionately intolerant

It is totally the wrong thread but might I suggest Top Shot!! I can't believe how much I love that show. I also watch Sons of Guns, about Red Jacket gun manufacturers in Louisiana. I'm liking that one less since their 'let's kill us some 'gators' ep.

As for Torchwood. I'm going to rely entirely on after the fact posting before I venture anywhere near it. I'm still traumatized.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Top Shot kicks ass.

It's wild to see all these political conservatives on a reality tv show, but there you have it.
