But I understand. You gave up everything you had to find me. And you found me broken. It's hard for you.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

The knit crocheted (look, I don't really know anything about crafting, all right?) version of the, err, thing, on Doctor Who 4x01: [link]

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

My closed captioning told it was sitar music. How can people watch without it?

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

We were just commenting on that at our house.

Is the show sucking any less?

I think it's sucking more.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Torchwood - Adrift (I've forgotten the ep number): Tough one. I hate the consequences episodes, but I'm glad they have them. There's a lot going on, and a lot of their actions have consequences and I'm glad we got to see them. But painful.

Seems like with all their footloose and fancy free playing with memory, they should at least be able to construct a plausible end for their families. Sucks. And essentially, how powerless Torchwood is, ultimately. They're waving handkerchiefs at a waterfall. The twentieth century may be when it all changes, but I dunno that Torchwood is ready at all.

Gwen & Rhys, yeah. I think Gwen is inconsiderate. I don't think she thinks about Rhys when she's working. I don't think she remembers she has outside entanglements. And nobody else in Torchwood does, so there's no trigger for her to remember. I buy that in general, law enforcement is tough on the schedule and there's going to be a lot of "I dunno when I'm getting home." But Gwen does it more often than not, and in this episode it was not something urgent. No one was in danger, it was not life-threatening, it was not particularly time-sensitive. There was no reason why she shouldn't have been able to make a phone call.

Dammit.

But I may be projecting. Hee. Also, my love for Rhys may be slightly disproportionate.

OH! But I got my sex scene! So I'm happy now. What else should I ask for with my amazing television manipulating powers?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

BSG: It's still a little eyerolly for me, but it may be mostly the messianic stuff, other than the whole Dylan thing. And I must be missing the magic on the big battle scene, or not paying enough attention, because it was mostly just sparkly to me.

That said, I like the enduring complexity of the characters. I like that their relationships morph and change. I like the constant callbacks to the things that shape them.

And I like Anders.

Too bad about the whole Cylon thing he's got going. Speaking of, why in the name of all that's shiny don't they present themselves to Adama and get themselves locked up, if they think they're such a threat? If they really wanted to be the people they think they are, the best thing they could do was fess up and lock themselves away where they're no longer being privy to the information and positions they've been placed in and they'd be unable to cause damage.

Not too sure about the whole going the wrong way thing, but I hope we don't have to hear about it too long. I have this thing about where I get cranky with what they do with Kara. I like her as a hardass and I dunno if I can handle her all Cassandra.

Baltar's life seems to involve a lot more curtained low beds with elaborate bedding than most people's. That's really about all that I have to say about that.
