I've been out of the abbey two days, I've beaten a lawman senseless, I've fallen in with criminals. I watched the captain shoot the man I swore to protect. And I'm not even sure if I think he was wrong.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Art Crawl!!!

Well, the first season of US Being Human is going to be more than twice as long as the first season of the original. So, they have time to move in other directions. (I hope.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

They can't not go in other directions, somehow.

And given that S2 of the UK version is as far as BBC America got, I'd be surprised to see them selling the same thing to a competing network at pretty much the same time.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Just a data point - BBCA doesn't get first dibs on BBC shows and is legally bound to pay a fair market rate for any content they aquire. The department which sells BBC shows to American broadcasters is totally separate and has to treat the channel the same way they would any other client. (This is why those two departments no longer sit next to each other in the new office. It can get a little tense sometimes.)

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

question:

how many episodes constitutes a marathon when you are watching a tv program?

Polter-Cow - Jan 21, 2011 7:35:58 am PST #15737 of 30001
What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Three or more, and then it's an orgy.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

See, I think it has to be at least 4 to be a marathon.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I think a marathon is when you watch for so long you eat at least two meals during it.

Or maybe if you and your roommates finish a 750 ml bottle of vodka or Jack Daniels.... (That's what we did when Comedy Central had MST3K marathons on Thanksgiving.)

I could live with that.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

they mention a show called Cast a Deadly Spell

I have that on VHS! It was fun.

I'm gonna get y'all's reactions to US Being Human for a few more episodes before I commit to it. Buffistas are useful for pre-screening shows for me! I can tell if I'll like it based on what the folks here say. For example, I have you to thank for the new Sherlock Holmes, which I might never have even heard about otherwise.
