Harrow: You didn't have to wound that man. Mal: Yeah, I know, it was just funny.

'Shindig'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

They sounded so Yiddish under the Christmas music and it made me raise my eyebrows. Hanukah not good enough?

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Some Jews do celebrate a secular version of Christmas, cause trees, carols and Santa are fun.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Huh. So Carter is telling a tale set in this timeline that he didn't actually experience.

All is well that ends in pizza.

At the end I got the impression that he was telling the tale of the current year, but that can't be right.

Or is this some future year with him telling the current year. or is it just a good story for the kids.

I may have to rewatch.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'm OK with it either way. There are enough timey-wimey handwavey timeline stuff going on in the Eureka- verse that it may be enough to sit back and enjoy the show.

Plus, we got back Matt Frewer for a fun visit, so my Xmas gift is complete.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

My Jewish father's family always did the tree and presents thing.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

None of the Jewish people I grew up with ever did that sort of stuff, so it's new to me. I hung out with them in December assemblies to escape Christmas.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

My Jewish sister-in-Law has a tree, just because she like the ornaments. And The DH's whole family likes carols--although the less overtly Christ-y ones.
