A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Santuary: I thought Henry and the Big Guy were in a romantic relationship. Was I wrong about that all this time? The subtext actually seemed to be screaming TEXT.

I think being asked about that in Season 1 freaked Ryan Robbins out enough that they backed off almost any onscreen personal interaction between the two characters later in the series.

Though how he could film multiple takes of Christopher Heyerdahl cradling his cheek and telling him they would go through his journey together and not pick up on the subtext until someone questioned him about it afterward is a mystery to me.

I'm not sure why that storyline was so unceremoniously dropped. I thought it was great, and very well carried out by the actors. That memory totally pulled me out of this latest episode. I ended up ffing to the Tesla bits and ignoring the rest.

Art Crawl!!!

Hey, I had a thought about the whole zombie movie/show tradition of not calling them zombies: maybe it's because to be zombies they'd have to have been called forth in that particular voudoun ritual and lots of "zombie" movies have walking dead type creatures that owe nothing to a ritual.

And I must say that I am enjoying that The Walking Dead only cares about how it's people are surviving and not so much what the hell happened. I do hope that this is not because they have no clue what happened - just that it can't be their concern yet.

I finished the first series of Doctor Who last night (the new first series, not the stuff from the 60s) and I'm LOVING it. So, thank you all for the recommendation!!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

The Walking Dead -- so we still don't know what became of Merle? AND, Rick and the rest RAN back to the camp!? From downtown Atlanta?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yay!

I think season two is my fave of the new series. Also, be sure to watch the Christmas Special before season two (on iTunes at least, the Christmas Special is the first episode of season two).

The Christmas Special is listed at the first episode of season two on Netflix as well, which I was glad about; I was going to be annoyed if I had to track down the Christmas specials elsewhere!!

My favorite episodes of the first season were definitely The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances. Super creepy but really fantastic. I might have nightmares every time I see a gas mask for the rest of my life, but oh well.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

it's because to be zombies they'd have to have been called forth in that particular voudoun ritual and lots of "zombie" movies have walking dead type creatures that owe nothing to a ritual.

But we'd call them zombies anyway. We are calling them zombies.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

My favorite episodes of the first season were definitely The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances.
