Spike: We got a history, him and me. Fred: What? Spike: It was a long time ago. He was a young Watcher, fresh out of the academy when we crossed paths. It was a, what-you-call battle of wills and blood was spilled. Vendettas were sworn. It was a whole-- Fred: My God you're so full of crap. Spike: Yeah. Okay.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

There are also most defintely recurring baddies, or types of baddies, anyway.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Everytime I watch an episode of "Fringe" this season I hear Spike saying "Pacey you blind idiot" in my head, and I never even watched "Dawson's Creek".

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I couldn't get to sleep last night so I watched this:

Matt Smith on The Late Show With Craig Ferguson

It was OK. I've decided Ferguson annoys me. Also, I've never seen Matt Smith out of character before - he looks like fun.

Apparently they did this elaborate song and dance involving Smith, the Dalek and other people/stuffed animals, but they were not allowed to broadcast it (copyright issues with the Dalek and BBC?) So they were all, "Maybe someone will post it on the internet nudge nudge wink wink."

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

can you explain it to me? I was left wondering that as well!

Sorry, Le Nubian, I was traveling much of yesterday.

The eldest daughter is called "Red" in honor of their greatest ancestor, Little Red Riding Hood. I guess the wolf in that story was actually a werewolf?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

oh! I guess I had assumed that part all along. Got it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

tommy, I asked at IO9 for some 7-12 Nu Who suggestions and got these:

Dalek from series 1 is good for younger children as 'scary, but not nightmare inducing'. Plus, lots of action and a Dalek!

Aside from that... Rose, The End of the World, Aliens of London/World War Three, New Earth, Smith and Jones, The Shakespeare Code, Partners in Crime, Planet of the Ood, The Eleventh Hour, Victory of The Daleks, and Vampires of Venice would also be great younger audience choices. Personal picks out of that for me would be one of the series openers from Tennant's run - New Earth, Smith and Jones or Partners in Crime.

My daughter is 12 and Vincent and the Doctor is her favourite espisode.

Those are all good - thanks!

Now I just gotta ask my parents if they still have that 40 year old TV, and see if I have the hardware to hook my iPod up to it (MacBook Pros do not play at all with analog TVs).

Compassionately intolerant

I must confess my most recent fantasy guilty pleasure.

Canada's Lost Girl is great fun.

It is basically Blood Ties with a female Sucubus PI protagonist, and even sexier police pal (with a secret of his own) and every popular derivative of the genre. I like the plucky, avant-fashionista Girl Friday sidekick even more than the one on BT.

In what is a fairly stressful time for me, it's the best kind of comfort food.

Plus, a little person supporting role that gives Michael J. Anderson a run for my affection.

Extra added bonus, Kirsten Holden-Reid has a voice that reeeeaallly does it for me. Also, a torso not unlike Timothy Olyphant's...and we get to see it a lot.

call me jacki; zuisa is an internet nick from ancient times =)

I've heard good things about Lost Girl! It looks fun. I'll add it to my ever growing list.

Has anyone seen Misfits? I've also heard good things about that.
