I would. What Highlander lacks in creatures ala S&S, it makes up with multiple heroes' journeys.

Lamentably no, in my experience. Though I feel compelled to give it a lot more thought.

I'm not sure why, but a scene from the last CSI:Miami episode I forced myself to watch comes forcefully to mind.

They used a 'sniffing' technology that helped them to recreate the design of a ring, including the 3 dimensional detail of a rose design...as I recall.

The sword they wielded is technology. The sorcery seems to be the spell they have cast to stay on the air by constantly insulting their viewers' intelligence.

Other than that, I've got nothing at the moment.

I haven't actually seen it, but what about Merlin? I'd figure that for both. If it's still on, that is.

Merlin's pretty historically inaccurate, but it's not set in the present day.

Heh. I parsed wrong. I thought you meant, present-day, is there an S & S show on. Not S & S set in present-day.

This is really hard. I love every Doctor for his own reasons, as each incarnation is his own person. But as much as I love Smith’s quirkiness, Tennant takes the crown for me with his exit.

Regenerations are generally joyous events that symbolize the Doctor’s rebirth and the continuation of the great adventure. But when Tennant stands in the Tardis, bathed in that golden light, all he can say is, “I don’t want to go.” This puts a whole new perspective on the process of regeneration, forcing the viewers to realize that regeneration is as much about death as it is life. Personally, I've finally come around to having Tennant as my fave (I really only got into Doctor Who in the last season, so I totally loved Smith). Maybe it's Tennant's goofy smile....

How about Witchblade?

Obviously there was witch and blade in the title, but sadly I don't even remember it well enough to remember if there were swordfights in general in it.

The blade does get used. It's a integral part of the mythology.

Henry Fitzroy (Blood Ties) has a lot of swords, but he doesn't use them in his daynight job.
