A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I'm sad that Stark's not back for real, though. I miss him.
Seriously. I'll take the limited Ed Quinn, but yeah (I miss him on True Blood too, even though he was only in a couple of episodes).
Which begs a few questions: a) why did Jack immediately assume it was HIS timeline Stark (even the "miss me" line could have referred to events this Jack wasn't around for, b) why haven't either Jack or Allison bothered to check if Stark was dematerialized in this timeline, and c) why WOULD Stark have been dematerialized in this timeline?
Finally, how much abuse can a poor deputy take? I mean, really.
ETA - I still haven't even gotten around to watching the new BSG, and the James Callis gags were killing me.
I think ita, Cindy and I are the only ones watching "Haven." This isn't the best show in the world, and yet here I am every week watching the show!
Isn't there a difference between "not feeling pain" and "not feeling anything?"
I think it is ridiculous that he can't feel anything. How does he function normally? How does he touch anything?
It's my understanding that real world people who have diminished or absent senses of touch (like lepers) have to function mainly through visual cues. Also, monitor themselves constantly for cuts and abrasions to avoid the infections that used to lead to rotting and amputation.
right, but I thought he just couldn't feel pain, not that he couldn't feel anything at all.
I know about the checking one's self for cuts and abrasions...
He started out by saying he couldn't feel pain, and the condition he named was idiopathic neuropathy which is hugely general, and from googling doesn't match his life.
It's wildly ill-considered and I find it very irritating.
I did like that the French chick left--not him, but Haven. I see why people stay in Eureka, despite the calamity of the week. It's wonderful as well as weird. Haven just looks like a waiting room for absurd death, no matter how picturesque.
I do think my reaction to the sincere belief that I was living in a cursed town where people can die in freaky supernatural manners at a moment's notice would be to move away from the damn town.
Out of morbid interest, I looked up
The Colorado Kid
which was published by King in a short-lived paperback original series of hard-boiled crime - not one of his well-known properties.
Anyway... the points of correspondence it has with
Haven
? A) Female protagonist who B) comes to a small Maine coastal town and C) works as a newspaper reporter intern for the two old journalists who run the local paper. And they tell her about the one mysterious death that occurred many years ago and that can't be solved.
And that's, literally, all that it has in common.
On the Eureka front - they said last night that in 2 weeks it will be the season finale. Is that just the summer season, or is it the season season? And if the latter, have they been picked up for a new one?
Summer finale. Colin's shooting 22 this year, if memory serves.
