A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Martha Jones?!?!??!? Really?
I mean, I know the unrequited thing was a bit sad, but she did come into her own by the end. Hell, I miss Martha and hope she turns up on Torchwood when it comes back.
Also, not sure why the Doctor's daughter is in there. One off characters shouldn't be included.
Sadly, I can't find it in myself to make a case to defend Dawn, but I do think that's unfair.
I finally figured out what I didn't like about this Doctor. He's not nice. When they were leaving the museum in the beginning, he
shoved
Amy, and not in a nice or fun way.
Are any of the Doctors nice?
I thought Three and Five were very nice, with the latter being fairly gentle too.
My memories of Three, admittedly dim, are that he was obnoxiously arrogant. Granted, he was usually right, so it's not an inappropriate thing for the Doctor to be, but I never liked him much. Whether that was the character or Pertwee, I have no idea. Also, I was seeing his stuff in a jumble with Four and Five which couldn't have helped (never had the chance to assess Six or Seven, apart from Six's first appearance, which boded ill).
You're right, nice isn't the word that I was looking for. disrepectful, maybe? It just really bothered me that Amy said "hey, where are we going?" and he just shoved her. And not playfully.

I will say, Eleven has been extremely, well, crotchety. This has got to be deliberate given they keep giving him lines about how old he feels or how old he is. Which is interesting - while Nine and Ten had their bugaboos, age didn't seem to be one of them. I also find it extra interesting them going this route since Matt Smith looks to be the youngest actor to play the Doctor ever.
No new Who tonight, right?
Nope. It's all the fault of us Americans rebelling against the British. No new Who on 4th of July weekend....
