Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

it may be that altOlivia is not evil

It may be? What evil thing or motivation have we seen from her so far?

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Can we call her Altlivia? I wonder if they'll pick up immediately or at the end of the summer. If the summer, then they'd have to play that she passed for that time, and it would either have to be something that was building, or something exceedingly unusual that pings it, otherwise why not immediately. However, giving the summer does give time for Olivia to get her crack-opining mojo going.

And, oh, the awkwardness with Peter when she gets back, especially if it's been the summer.

Fauxlivia works for me.

I hope they don't skip time, because the mechanics of her fitting in are important to me.

All is well that ends in pizza.

I'm not saying Faulivia IS evil, I'm just leaving the door open.

Actually, given all that has happened on the other side, I can see why many might have been convinced that winning at any cost was necessary.

She only just found about the other side. She's an agent doing a job. Walter stole a child. Walternate is a revenge-obsessed bastard. I don't think anyone else on their side has taken any sort of moral stance…yet.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

I don't think anyone else on their side has taken any sort of moral stance…yet.

and if they do, I'm certain the choices will be presented to them in terms of one world's survival or the other. I'm not entirely sure choosing one's own world in those circumstances is "evil." (But working to find a way to save both is unequivocally good.)

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Just remember that Peter's kidnapping was the Alternate World's Lindbergh Baby equivalent, and the presumption that whoever would kidnap an innocent child must be evil... so her immediate assumption is going to be more that she's on the side of Good.

brillig

If she gets a chance to observer Peter and Walter together, or gets to know Walter at all, she should get very confused comparing the two Walters. I expect some juicy "But the Secretary is a very important man! He's protected us! What do you mean he's a conniving, intentionally-world-destroying bastard!"

Walter at least feels bad about it. Thought I loved Bell sitting there munching on licorice as he said, "Yes, Walter, it's all your fault." I'm going to miss him.

Compassionately intolerant

Who UK:

Rory:"Can't you sonic it?" DW:"It doesn't do wood." Rory:"That's rubbish." DW: "Hey! Don't diss the sonic."

Awesome call-back.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Who US: Loving Rory. He's got a brain (loved his lack of astonishment at the inside of the Tardis) and he's brave, if not altogether competent. He reminds me a bit of Xander. And i think The Doctor is his Angel!
