Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I loved Ace--she's on my top five companions list along with Donna, Sarah Jane, Leela, and Tegan, who was annoying and shrill, but I loved her willingness to call Five on his bullshit and also her exit (telling the Doctor she had had enough of the death and destruction that he leaves behind him really nailed the Doctor to the wall).

ETA: Turlogh had potential to be a great companion, but after his conversion from the Doctor's assassin-in-waiting to his companion, the writers took a left turn and left me hanging. Mark Strickson was wonderful eye candy, though!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Watching V now. Not sure just how much longer 80s nostalgia can keep me tolerating this much sucking.

V killed Joshua? He was the only character I liked unabashedly and didn't act like a moron.

Edit: Woot! Not dead! Sorry they'll likely torture the shit out of him, but we get to keep my favorite character.

Art Crawl!!!

Wasn't that weird?

I guess it means that the lizard can't be killed with regular gunfire and they just remade the human exterior or something.

The red skies thing seemed anticlimatic to me.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

That same artist has Disney pinups that are WAAAAY better (IMHO) than the ones that got posted yesterday elsewhere. [link] Safeish for work.

Barb's Cabana Boy

Actual Twitter convo with Barb last week:

B: Yay, Chuck was renewed! Boo, Flash Forward was canceled. And V was renewed? WHY?

Me: Moral of this story: catchy theme song > interesting plot

B: Bah. Not even their own. Just borrowed from pretentious neo-prog-rock band.

Me: Pfft. *waves hands* As if that matters.

B: I think moral of story: Hot alien chick=safer bet than grumpy FBI agents.

Me: Huh? I lost you after "Hot alien chick"

B: Thus proving my point.

Me: LOL, touché!

But are we encountering the crack out of order? I'm beginning to think so: Prisoner Zero knew what it was, and whatever happens at the Pandorica is obviously significant. Does the Doctor somehow cause the crack? Does River Song kill him? Does the Doctor try to rewrite time? (Because, as we know, that likely leads to bad things. Bad things like two pieces of space and time touching that never should. Bad things like people not remembering Daleks or giant Cyberman robots rampaging in London. Except for the time travelers, naturally. So ... go easy out, Sarah Jane Smith and Jack Harkness!)

Been thinking about this a lot since reading Victor's post and thinking back to the episode. It's easy to assume that BadThings(TM) happen to people when they get too close to the crack, but I'm really starting to think that Amy passed through the crack in her wall at some point into a different reality, one where the Dalek attack never happened.

I may have missed previous posts in my skipping and skimming, but welcome "Barb's cabana boy". Or belated welcome, as the case might be.

Thanks, this is the first time I popped in over here. I've posted a few times in Gaming/tech/etc.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

I'm really starting to think that Amy passed through the crack in her wall at some point into a different reality, one where the Dalek attack never happened.

Interesting. Would that mean the Doctor is lost in a different reality too, or more that the whole universe has changed?
