Doctor Who: Just watched the latest UK episode, and ...wow, that ending was unexpected. On the one hand, AGAIN?? But on the other hand, if he ends up having to play matchmaker between Amy and Rory, that could be kind of awesome. So, we'll see?

Hmm, I was all ready to believe that the man River kills must be the Doctor, but now I think not! Same with her being his wife: too many references to them acting like a married couple, etc., so she's probably something else entirely. I like the theory that she has some connection to Amy. Either way, I guess we'll be seeing River again, which makes me happy. I found myself really liking her in this episode, though she's so very different from when we first met her in the library. Curious to see how she gets from here to there.

I think my favorite thing in the episode was watching Amy's countdown (and realizing that's what she was doing). Eek! And one thing that bugged: I didn't like being able to see the angels moving -- that took away some of their creepiness, IMO.

What did you all make of the scene when the Doctor is leaving Amy with the clerics, when the camera pans down to Amy's fidgeting hands -- and then the Doctor grabs them and tells her to remember what he told her when she was seven. I thought at first that she was hallucinating him, or else the angel in her mind was trying to startle her and get her to open her eyes, but neither of those theories seems to have panned out.

Kate, the theory is that it's a future Eleven. Notice that he's wearing a jacket when Eleven in the episode had ditched it with the Angels. And that he pointedly glances in Eleven's direction as if to make sure he's not coming back to meet himself.

No comments on Fringe ? I liked seeing Peter try to convince people that his life really is that crazy. The ending was no shocker, but aaah! Can't wait to see what happens next.

UK DW: If River Song isn't the Doctor's wife/lover, that makes all of the "You. Me. Handcuffs" sentences a lot more disturbing.

"Fringe" keeps on being awesome. Last night, Lea and I were wondering if Peter still had his FBI badge with him, and then he produced it. Then we were positing that, at this point, someone would have called in the Feds, and then Peter produced a plausible reason not to. All in all, a good little episode, and it was nice to see Peter have more to do than just stand around and be snarky. Plus Walter supermarket meltdown! And Walternate! Much, much fun.

The show just dropped the storyline of Gina Torres as Courtney Vance's wife, and her flashforward that she (they) would have adopted/have custody of a little boy. That makes me sad.

I mean, they're already cramming too much in (I kind of don't care about Bryce and Keiko), but I wanted to see more Gina Torres.
