A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

the vibe on the holoband

I originally read this as "hoboland." I need a nap.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I first heard the term "de-res" in Tron. Is that where the term comes from, or does it predate that?

I want to say that it was a CAD-CAM term for engineering designs being peeled back from versimilitude to structural views onscreen, but I'm not certain.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Has any other science fiction used the term?

"Oh no! Has falling sky liquid once again caused you the sadness?" -Starfire

Excellent episode! This just turned the series from "Oh, Caprica is on." to "Can't wait for Caprica!" for me!

Love Tamara! Loved the Tauron ceremony! And omg... when Daniel asked Cylon/Zoe to rip her arm off, I cringed sooo much. So glad they didn't show Zoe after that!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Max Headroom is coming out on DVD!!!!! I am SO HAPPY.

MH was my first experience of the tragedy of Brilliant Show Cancelled Unfairly. I can't wait to see how it holds up on dvd (as compared to the crappy dark third-generation VHS-to-.avi version I have on my external hard drive).

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

That's awesome!!!! I was just talking about MH to someone at work and wondering why it's never been out on home video.

From io9: Caprica Is Quickly Becoming The Best SF Show On Television

Friday night's episode of Caprica, "There Is Another Sky," moved the already-intriguing show to the status of must-watch. It was simply one of the best SF representations of futuristic videogames and internet culture that I've ever seen.

The article mostly sums up last Friday's episode.

The conclusion:

From its humble origins as a spinoff of Battlestar Galactica, Caprica has grown into a terrific show in its own right. A show that nimbly asks big questions about the nature of sentience and justice, while also spinning a terrific yarn about old-fashioned gangsters in a world of high-tech corporate warfare.

This is definitely not Battlestar Galactica anymore. It's something else. And you'll be sorry if you don't tune in to find out more.

Compassionately intolerant

Being Human:

Whoa! While some of the clean up may have been a bit rushed and...convenient...I enjoyed the finale. If only because it seems as though they've set it up that S3 will be more like S1...which suits me fine.

It was nice to see the resurrection...pun intended...of one of my favorite characters. And the demise of the one I've liked least throughout the series.

Annie was underused, but Mitchell and George were great...as was Nina. I never liked her before, but she's grown on me. Lucy's fate was satisfying and appropriate.

Fun!
