Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That's bent.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

I think the focus is officially shifting to be on the war between the worlds.

Agreed. We're in mid-season stand-alones right now, with the A-plot receding into the background a bit. But I don't think any ball's been dropped at all, and I'm certain it's all going to jump forward again as the back half of the season gears up.

And I can't complain about Astrid finally getting some focus. She spent most of the early run of the show barely being a character, and now she's starting to come alive.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Yeah, I'm really liking Astrid this season.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Anyone watching Caprica?

brillig

Poor Astrid got a dose of grim Dr. Bishop, though, there at the end.

Art Crawl!!!

I've watched the pilot but I'm rewatching. (Caprica)

Fringe: I do like seeing more of Astrid.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Wasn't Caprica the fake name they used for Tara's character in The Runway Job on Leverage?

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Wasn't Caprica the fake name they used for Tara's character in The Runway Job on Leverage?

Oh probably, given that the cover names Hardison comes up with for the fake IDs are almost always total geek references (esp. Doctor Who in some episodes).

Caprina, I think, which just makes me think of Brazilian cocktails.

Oh, I agree they're moving toward the war, but the monsters-of-the-week aren't very connected and I wish they were. But I agree that it's great to get more of Astrid, and I'm glad that she is onto something hinky with Peter.
