A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Fiona, yes! I said (mentally),
"yes, I noticed that as well. It was really confusing in discussion."
to the character.
I also said, "
Nina, love, you don't really have much of a righteous indignation leg to stand on when you won't tell your boyfriend what you're actually upset about,
dumbass."
Enjoyed Chuck last night, but I'm not as much into it as last season. I was really hoping we'd have character growth, some kind of change, or at least somebody moving the fuck on. (Besides Anna. I applaud Anna for, apparently, moving on.) I'm annoyed rather than amused by the Buy More subplot now. I'm sick of the juvenile idiots constantly getting in Chuck's way by doing immensely stupid things, and yet somehow managing to always provide the McGuffin that saves the day. I cheered when the manager got shot, dead for reals. I'm finding the ill-starred love between Chuck and Sarah has become tedious. I do like that they've kept Chuck still being Chuck despite the erratic super-spy powers. I like that he's not living with his sister anymore, though it would've been better if he'd been the one to move out.
Huh. I disliked it more than I thought. I'll give it another couple episodes before I delete it from my DVR queue.
If I haven't watched since the pilot, would now be a good time to pick the show up again? I got the impression from the promos that this season was a reboot, but the comments I'm reading here indicate that that's not really the case.
no, not really a reboot.
I think you should watch last season before picking up this season. Last season (particularly the last 3rd of the season) was really good. That show ended on a really high note.
It's not really a reboot, but the basic premise has been adjusted a bit. It's certainly still
Chuck,
though.
I was only half-watching, and the romance angle still annoyed the hell out of me. But then, I never saw the appeal of Chuck at all (the show, not the actor playing the titular character).
The romance angle (and my lack of conviction that Yvonne Strahovski could kick anyone's ass) ranks up there for why I never got into the show. It was just so overwrought, and it seemed clear it would be pale tease upon tease.
Maybe I'll skip to season 2.

"I know this isn't really the time, but I need to talk to you..." "Focus on the mission Chuck!" Repeat about a dozen times. There's lovestruck, and there's stupid.
Actually, I like that they seemed to have moved passed that tonight. I'm a little sad that I'm relieved there was no Buy More contingent, but hopefully they can get that back on track too. Morgan should certainly be feeling a little more confident after last night's second episode, even if no one except Chuck will ever believe him.
