Yeah, I wasn't expecting the gap until ??March?? -- why didn't they "position" this as a mini-series special or something?

Yes, but wouldn't it be simpler to just force-grow human meat in tanks? If you have That Much technology? Or terraform a planet or two? Or find an unoccupied one that isn't overrun with 7 billion excess humans?
