What'd you all order a dead guy for?

“Not dead yet!”

I went to the place that he was doing cleanup on the mistress. She gets to Puerto Rico for some reason.

Yeah, I was between the Chinese gangsters and the mistress being sent to PR. From what little we've seen, he doesn't strike me as a particularly fair sort of guy. He's very much into defending his own self-interests by whatever means necessary. When he was telling Stanforrd that not only was he willing to get down in the mud, but that he reveled in it, I sort of read an admiring tone into his words.

But I also think, going along those lines, that he doesn't necessarily trust that Stanford will destroy the negatives as promised. After all, one time use or not, it's incredibly powerful political currency.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

The Senator was totally lying when she said she saw herself as president.

Totally.

I'm telling you, I think some of the things people saw were what they were dreaming.

I'm telling you, if we don't SEE it, it's not true.

I really dislike the use of music in this show.

Heh. I think it's sort of hit-or-miss. Sometimes they do brilliant things like the Bjork last week. I have mixed feelings on the karaoke shootout. It was amusing but I'm not sure it QUITE worked as well as they wanted it to.

Also, did they KILL Janis?!? I will be displeased if that's so.

No way. Displeased! Also, she's in the main cast. They can't kill her off this early.

If President Coyote resigns within the next six months, he'd still be called "President" and would still get Secret Service protection, right? That could make the Senator/VPs flashforward claim true.

Hmmm.

Also, who was the polygraph guy at the beginning? The actor looked familiar.

He did! I think he looked like someone, but then when I got a closer look, I realized it wasn't who I thought it was.

Not at the end, when it was wheeling around in her blood

Ooooh, that's where those tracks were coming from. Nice.

Jon's scenario might work, though, since I'm not sure why she'd lie.

If enough people BELIEVE she's President in the future, they may be willing to go along with whatever needs to, uh, happen to make that possible. I think this is one of the ideas that's at the crux of the show: believing in a specific future changes your actions in the present, whether or not the future you believe in begins as a lie.

I loved the look on Noh's face during the gunfight. Everyone feels they can't die if they saw something, but I think he feels extra that he can't die because he knows precisely when he's supposed to.

Yes! I could tell he was thinking, "Fuck you all, I don't die today."

I wish they hadn't told us Coyote was President beforehand. Would have been a nice reveal.

Who told you? Was it in the previews? I didn't know, and it was a nice reveal.

My current theory is that the CIA, or some other goverment people (maybe even President Coyote who made that phone call after the FBI guy blackmailed him) sent the hitmen partly as a way of advancing the CIA theory.

Oooh. Yeah, it seemed too coincidental that the hitmen were Chinese after the finger-pointing.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Unless the CIA hired the Chinese gunmen to promote the Chinese-Did-It theory they want to promote....

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Was it in the previews?

Yes. I even mentioned it last week (in spoiler font, to be nice).

Unless the CIA hired the Chinese gunmen to promote the Chinese-Did-It theory they want to promote....

That's what I'm sayin'!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Just watched The Plan - unfortunately it's basically a clip show with Dean Stockwell whining in the background. Pretty disappointing.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

P-C, I believe it is possible if we don't see it, it isn't true, but what do we see if the person is asleep and dreaming?

It is possible that something we see isn't real or won't be real.

I haven't come to a strong conclusion on that yet.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I concur with Jessica. I thought "The Plan" highlighted some of the worst aspects of BSG and didn't bring out the best. I am actually not quite sure what the point of the "movie" is. Comment about where in the timeline the movie stops in spoiler:

I am also mystified why the movie stopped before Caprica. I was actually interested in the cylons motivation for calling a truce and leaving (and what they did when the left) before they came back after Gina set off the bomb. The movie starts hours(?) before the apocalypse, so we didn't get to see much of the history we now know. The movie is also the Dean Stockwell show, and why they didn't deal with Lucy Lawless more is beyond me. I wish they had gone all the way back in time to before a model was boxed. That would have been interesting as well.

re: Sanctuary

anyone in here watching the show? I have a couple of questions. Did the actress who plays Ashley want out of the show or something? Her exit seemed incredibly abrupt and I can't believe they killed her off like that.

Second, I think there is a lack of continuity in how the characters are written on the show. They do a good job with Amanda, but I thought Will would be spending more time grieving for his invisible girlfriend.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

LeN, apparently the actress who played Ashley will appear in the rest of the season anyway.

I'm kinda pissed because I thought I didn't like Ashley, but really, with Kate around, I know what I don't like. I hate the slightly amoral grifter that gets indulged even though she's a threat to the way things should operate. If she messes up again because of greed...well, I hope that this past episode was supposed to be her lesson and a turning point. But I don't think I'm going to like the way the actress portrays her anyway. Her idea of sass seems a bit high school. Not really a highly paid professional. I'm not sure why Henry said she was good at the end of the episode.

Re: Flashforward

The burnt dome of the White House bothered me. Isn't it a no fly zone? What set it on fire? S'mores accident?
