Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

ita, I did not see any "later in the season" stuff so I can't speak to that.

I do know that I'm suspicious about his "need to make a phone call." The timing of that seemed weird. I don't make too many phone calls at 10pm since I'm out of college.

Janis reminds me of megan walker.

Huh. Not sure if I'm looking forward to watching tonight or not.

I am falling in love with Walter on Fringe. He's just so damned happy. "This means bodies!" Even Scary!FBI boss gets amused by him.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I remember being surprised that John Noble decided to move from Australia to try out his hand in Hollywood after being in LotR, but the little bit of Fringe I've seen, he's so terrific as Walter.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

My XBF said they'd planted Fringe firmly in the X-Files universe. Apparently there was a reference to "previous X-named departments" or something, I didn't catch it. But XBF reports that Chris Carter gave his blessing on the idea.

I think it's cool, and I want a walk-on by Mitch Pileggi.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Apparently there was a reference to "previous X-named departments" or something, I didn't catch it.

It was in the premiere, yeah. Cool that Chris Carter okayed it!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's weird that they also showed a bit of XFiles on TV. Documentary?

Megan, think about it. You get to maybe get pregnant by John Cho. Life could be worse.

Yes, there was a chunk of an X-Files episode playing on a monitor in the background a bit ago.

This, of course, makes it easier to recycle X-Files concepts. When they started talking about "They are here" last night, I laughed.

Ah. I wasn't sure who the character was.

You're right. It could be worse. Much worse.

Parallel universes could also retcon some of the more egregious blunders on the X-Files part (and explain why Krycheck kept coming back from the "dead"). Not enough of them, sadly.
