I voted but I did not get a sticker. Again. There weren't as many people as I thought there might be at my polling place (at 8:30 am). I only saw about 5 altogether. And I knew 2 of them.
Natter 56: ...we need the writers.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
People. They mess stuff up for the rest of us.
loves this.
After that, I just kept looking at my watch and wishing that they had better beer.
This describes so much of my life.
My polling place has never had stickers. There was no line at 9. I'm trying to think when there has been a line...Evenings during the presidential vote, I guess. Or maybe back when we had the big curtained booths. They'd only have 2 of those /precinct, but now have 5 or 6 of the carrel types. And since they no longer mark me off on the paper voter list, I can't tell how many people voted before me!

Oh, that was the best thing about the scantron machines at my old polling place.
My 79-year-old mom is volunteering for Obama at the polls in Northern Virginia today.
This (WA) is the first place I've lived with caucusing. I did not caucus. There's been a lot of discussion of the fairness of caucusing vs. the community aspect of it, etc. And it lets you get persuaded! Except most people who show up aren't persuadable. And someone was like "Dude, walk up and down the (big commercial) street over there and there are TONS of people who have to work during this caucus, how is that fair?", which I think is very true. It requires more effort and enthusiasm, to caucus. But I have to admit, it is kinda cool.
We have actual snow in New York! On the ground! And almost a whole day to enjoy it before it gets all mixified.

My parents are also big supporters of him. And my Mom was excited to find out that the parents of my cousin's fiancee (for whom she hosted a shower this past weekend) are also. She'd kind of figured they were big Republicans because the parents of my cousin she is marrying are and they are v. wealthy Long Islanders. (relatedly, evidently Anna Wintour is a big friend of her family and Vera Wang is designing her wedding dress. just for her.)
Happy Birthday Kristin!
