Nowadays, we just use regular shredded paper, though.

flea & Theodosia - He's been working in database applications/dev, but he also has a background in biology and worked at Red Cross for a while. I don't think he's much networking, which is odd because he is most definitely not shy. Although he hates asking for help, so I suppose that's why.
Oh, and I don't think he's seeing someone right now because of the move & insurance stuff, but yeah, he has gotten treatment.
I'm relieved that I don't sound like a callous jerk, at least. And yeah, a chat over coffee isn't possible but I'm sure we'll talk later this week on the phone, so I'll do a mood-check and see if I can administer a nudge, at least. Thanks to you both!
There should totally be a Buffista advice column.

I call it natter!
Correction: There should be a syndicated Buffistas advice column, so that others could benefit from the collective wisdom.
...Although that might be called "COMM."
One day, I want someone to throw me a ticker tape parade.
Ignore headhunters; they're a waste of time.
Not necessarily. I know my brother (who does something to do with data libraries?...mumbly mumbly techie/management type...anyway he's at Social Security now) has used headhunters several times successfully.
Speaking of that brother. He's not at Social Security today he's at the hospital still waiting for his baby to be born. They've been in since Sunday night. Come on, Baby Niece!!!!
I was all excited because phone just rang but it was NC brother calling to see if I'd heard anything this morning.
Jars, you don't live in New York City, either. You totally get a pass!

I was going to ask his field, but I see it now. I don't think they're a waste of time. They got me my last two gigs, and when I though of marking my salary down, they wouldn't stand for it, and got me decent money. Plus they could leverage previous relationships with the companies too.
I know you all don't want my pity but I feel sorry for people who don't like vegetables. I really do. I love them so much. (I mean, it's not that I don't love other, not so healthy foods, too. I'd eat tater tots every single day if there were no negative consequences.)

It seems like there'd be a lot of opportunities for him in Durham with all the big hospitals down there.
I know relocating is a huge stress even if it's your choice.
Oh, sorry, I don't mean everyone should always ignore headhunters. I think he should, because it seems like he's been counting on them to find a job for him, and he needs to not do that.
