Joyce: You don't think it's too obvious? I think I look like I have a cat on my head. Buffy: But a very well groomed cat. Joyce: Well that's a comfort.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Another example at how fucked polls are....

For CA, Reuters has Obama over Clinton, 49% to 36%

Survey USA has Clinton over Obama, 52% to 42%.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I like candy and chips, but it's short-term happiness. Very quickly, I become unhappy about it (because I always eat just that little bit too much).

Yeah, I've found this to be true myself. Then I tend to crave more healthy type foods to balance it out.

Um, I've heard of it. Still have no idea what it is.

From the old stock market "ticker tape" machines....

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Um, I've heard of it. Still have no idea what it is.

Ticker tape.

Do a Google image search of "ticker tape parade". It's awesome.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Happy Mardi Gras, y'all.

I wonder how much one of those would go for... it'd be cool to have one. You could connect it to a computer and have it print... whatever.

Art Crawl!!!

I went to bed relatively early so that I would be up bright and early to go vote - which I did. My polling place was pretty busy but not crowded. The sidewalks were of the suck: wet, slushy and icy. But I suspect that they will be more icy than not later on because our high temperature today was this morning.

Happy Birthday Victor!

Huh. And now I know. In my defense, I had figured out it was about throwing bits of paper.

Nowadays, we just use regular shredded paper, though.

flea & Theodosia - He's been working in database applications/dev, but he also has a background in biology and worked at Red Cross for a while. I don't think he's much networking, which is odd because he is most definitely not shy. Although he hates asking for help, so I suppose that's why.

Oh, and I don't think he's seeing someone right now because of the move & insurance stuff, but yeah, he has gotten treatment.

I'm relieved that I don't sound like a callous jerk, at least. And yeah, a chat over coffee isn't possible but I'm sure we'll talk later this week on the phone, so I'll do a mood-check and see if I can administer a nudge, at least. Thanks to you both!

There should totally be a Buffista advice column.
