Natter 56: ...we need the writers.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Man, I am once again furious about how rude my co-worker is. I'm thinking about setting up a meeting to talk to our boss about him.
In the meantime, am writing a scathing email about the local radio institution our local public radio fuckos have yanked off the air. I fear I'm not being coherent at all. I just want to say THIS IS BULLSHIT and leave it at that.
I wish I was more articulate.
Am finally caught up. I spent last night watching
Farscape
after buying season one from iTunes.
Apparently there was some sort of football game last night?
It's been a while since I skipped a Super Bowl. Maybe I should have watched it....
I really, really worry that the whole Steiner thing is going to really fuck up WYPR. And I don't mean that gleefully. On one hand, it might get it back on a community-minded track. OTOH, it might founder, and that would be sad.
any fun mardi gras plans?
Other than stopping by the local Polish bakery for some paczkis tomorrow morning, probably not.
I think I'm going to try to bake a vegan king cake tonight. If it turns out any good, I'll bring it in to the office tomorrow. (I've got a recipe that people have said is really good, but I'm a bit doubtful.)

I just don't know how it could end up being a good thing for them in any way. Did you see the article in the Sun today? Evidently they were talking about offering him the option of continuing the show until May and giving him $50,000 to not go to the press. And he was seriously considering this offer when they just abruptly cancelled his show and put something else on the air. So now he's getting to tell his story without worrying about stepping on their toes. And they are not looking good At All.
I told them they were bullshit and I'm not donating to them. assholes.

I mean that any backlash could end up with the ouster/re-education of the folks who made this call. They handled it about as badly as is possible, short of canning him on-air.
In unrelated news, but maybe this is why I'm so agitated RIGHT NOW, my sister-in-law should be in labor right now. She was to go in last night to be induced. I haven't gotten any updates yet today, though. It's making me crazy!!!!
NO plans. I am trying to figure out something meaningful to do for lent. I want it to be significant enought o actually make me aware of it and think on it, but also not so hard that it will be impossible.
Possible contenders:
- swap 30 min of internet or tv at night for stretching or meditation
- either stop unnecessary impulse buys (coffee/snack out/card/flowers)and give that money to the orphange - or match the money once spent in a donation
- take one thing out of my home each day - never to return
- swap 30 min of internet or tv at night for writing someone some real mail.
- no sodas.
Maybe I will see if I can set up a poll in LJ.

Carrot Top, who I have kissed.
I don't have any lenten goals. I think the 101 thing is enough to work on for someone of my limited mental and emotional capacities.
I've given up on hemming my jeans and just cut the pants to where I want it. I'll let it fray. This is not a hipster idea; it's a too lazy to hem idea.
