I kissed him, and I told him that I loved him. And I killed him.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Huh. So the Chinese versions could actually sound enough alike (given my mangling the language) to be mistaken for one another?

Just tuned in to Extreme Makeover Home Edition, where Ty Pennigton outfitted a family's new house with a bowling alley, homeschooling classroom for both kids, and a Secret of Nimh-themed bedroom complete with agiant dragon for the 12-year-old boy. That kid is NEVER getting laid.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Maybe there's a girl geek dreaming of a guy just like him, Matt.

I'm trying to work out of my McAffrey-obsessed self would have liked that.

I was browsing stocking stores on the web, and was caught by this page. Look at the model! They didn't retouch her or anything.

The site does have a plus size section, so it's clear they aren't pretending all women are petite and thin, but that picture makes it clear that they're not ghetto-ising all women who don't look like the Victoria's Secret women post-Photoshop.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

That site is kind of cool. I want to buy from there!

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I don't know why he's my boyfriend (totally not my type), but he is.

Jesse is me!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I need to check out Persuasion on MPT! I think I may have seen the production before, though.

It was different than the 1995 one I've seen before. I didn't like it as much. ROILING AND UNSPOKEN EMOTION, PEOPLE!!!!

(But ASH was marvelous. He give such good toff.)

Heh. I've heard most of the families end up having to sell the houses anyway. Taxes are a bitch.

[Edit: hmm... wikipedia does not back that up]

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

sarameg, I love those photos, both the ones of you and the ones of the sibs. What a wonderful thing for her as well as for you.

Also? Kat is just lovely IMO and she takes great pictures.

What did I do today? Weeding, tons of weeding. I don't know why. I went in the backyard to supervise the kids, and then suddenly I went all OCD on the weeds.

hip deep in pie

With watching Persuasion, I forgot all about the Golden Globes. Must go and see who won.

There were parts of this production of Persusaion that I liked, but I think it didn't overcome my attachment to the Ciarain Hinds/Amanda Root version. Besides, I hate it when they forget that Jane Austen has humor in it.

I felt like we had little subtext and everything was so very very spoken.

I really loved the portrayal of sister Mary. And ASH was wonderful.

But the running, running, running, running, running, running, running, running, running, ki..............................................ss was painful.
