I just did a thing I've been avoidey about. I've got the problem half-way solved but I'll have to call back after I receive another bill to completely resolve it. It makes me crazy that different branches of AT&T can't talk to each other but they all go by the same name. And that you have to call during U.S. business hours when most of the customer service calls go to India.
I wonder if I can manage non-avoidey on the other things I need to deal with.
sarameg, from a while back, if you want a recommendation for a tax guy I have a great one! Pretty reasonable and easy to talk to.
I need a tax guy! Does he do DC?
Sooo... say someone gets a parking ticket, goes online to pay it, and discovers that the record lists the correct tag number, but the wrong state. If (IF!) the ticked goes unpaid how likely is it the mistake would be discovered? Or would some phantom, non-existent vehicle forever take the blame?

I don't know. I only know B'more people who've used him. But it can't hurt to call and ask!
Speaking of tickets, if someone who's not from the US gets a ticket while driving her sister's car, which means her foreign info is the one in the records, but for some reason the cop put down a zip code making the address a gibberish one...and the ticket gets lost...how do you go about finding its details and resolving it?
It's just a fixit ticket, so no big. I just don't know what to do after I fixit, and I'm concerned that any reminder letters will either not get to her or get to her late. I can just see it--suddenly there'll be a bench warrant for her arrest and she'll be detained next time she comes into the country.
She was hoping for drama from the LAPD when he stopped us, but instead he asked us about Jamaican folk expressions.
This has me cracking up, and likely will leave me cracking up while I'm driving home.

was it an out of state tag that was given an in state label?
In state tag written up as an out of state tag.
