Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I am so behind on the news. I had no idea about this:

[Britney] Spears spent almost two days in a Los Angeles hospital after being taken from her home on a stretcher after a standoff with police. News reports said she locked herself in a bathroom and became hysterical when Federline's representatives came to pick up their two young sons after a visit.

Huh.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

There's a bar in Madison where you can get a beer in a boot. A nice glass boot.

Is this a common thing? (It's a German-ish bar.)

My friend Ashok has one. We break it out at parties and yell "Das Boot!"

The drunker we are the funnier that is. It's a pretty good gauge.

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

Those are amazing. My office will not be complete without them!

I look more rad than Lutheranism

What do people do about "making the bed" when you get up?

Personally, I have a spouse who is obsessive about bed-making and does it every day and very well, too. Hey, works for me.

I love coming home to a made bed. I can't explain why. So if I have time in the morning (and I generally don't), I make the bed before I leave.

I love Wonder Woman's hair. And The Flash is just awesome. And Superman has a great outfit.

Hawkgirl is fucking AWESOME.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Being as non-news-following as I am, I hadn't even seen the Clinton "choking up" video until today, when the three hundredth damn mention of it showed up. Seriously, I've never liked her as much as I did watching that clip. A certain colleague is getting a smack-down today for calling it crying.

In other news, Obama is still as adorable as a baby koala. He MUST be summoning demons or something. I actually feel bad for the other candidates -- it's hard to think seriously about Edwards or Biden or Kucinich when there are these two bright shiny candidates to think about.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

THAT is the Wonder Woman costume I could actually wear! Too bad most people would be like, huh?

I am so behind on the news. I had no idea about this:

I walked into my boss's office this morning to discuss, you know, work, and she opened with, "I cannot avoid Britney Spears!!" Um, OK.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Gronk.

I hate it when I (a) work during the week at the bookstore, because we never seem to get out of there before 11:00 pm, (b) stay up late to watch the TV I missed while at said bookstore, and (c) go to bed after 1:00 am, only to be kept awake by a needy cat who desperately craves constant petting when I'm in bed. Then, after I managed to fall asleep an hour later, the cat woke me up an hour after that to meow and demand more petting, which I refused to give her. She then tried knocking things off the bedside table, so I kicked her out of the bedroom and closed the door behind her.

After all that, my foot started spasming along the outside edge (which it tends to do immediately after I get home from a long shift at the store, not four hours later) and wouldn't stop for at least 30 minutes, until I finally got up and squeezed the muscle for some time until it stopped. Only then could I fall back asleep.

Like I said, gronk.

Only good thing is that I'm leaving at 1:30 to await delivery of my new TV!

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

At least Britney Spears is not making the national 6:30 news -- unlike Lindsey Lohan last summer. (It was more of a general piece, about young famous people losing their shit, but LL getting arrested was the spark, I'm sure.)

Obama is still as adorable as a baby koala

Hee!

Obama is still as adorable as a baby koala

He's picked up an endorsement from John Kerry. Not sure if that is a good thing for him or not.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

There's a bar in Madison where you can get a beer in a boot. A nice glass boot.

Here in Texas, you can hardly find a bar without glass boot mugs.
