Obama hasn't done anything. He hasn't shown he'll be able to manuever in Congress, or exhibit statecraft. Zip. He's a freshman Senator. Being smart isn't enough. I don't want somebody learning on the job in the White House.

It is so wrong to have to go through the whole thing with them every time. You have a record with them; they could read it. Um, I hope at the very least the recorded tv is satisfying.

It is my understanding that he is very heavily supported locally. (Localistas may correct me here) I thought his constituents have been calling for higher office since day one.

My mandated protocol is on file--it's been successfully retrieved a number of times. Suddenly they can't find it anymore. Then there's the record of the last time I was in and was given the standard protocol. Unreliable, it seems. Given it by a doctor also working today. Who I'd ask to talk to my ER doctor, except they keep cancelling my nurse pages.

This doctor wasn't actually going to give me any painkillers past steroids, and that was after asking if steroids had worked in the past (she was answered "no"). The nurse kept referring to dilaudid as "what you wanted, right?"

It is all very well set up. That's just not enough.

As for the election stuff, can you guys elect a good one this time?

Oh, I just finally looked at my stack of mail and my sample ballot is in there. The candidates are in alpha order. We have a big property tax amendment on the ballot this time, so that should help turnout.

Earlier today I had an email looking for my signature on a petition to get this amendment on the ballot. Guess they won't be needing that! (I did sign a couple years ago, this email stuff goes round forever)

My mom, who is staying with us, not only got into a minor ding accident in my car, but today, she left the lights on running the battery down. Cue slapstick music. When I tell her this she says, "Well, why didn't you notice it before you left?"

Seriously lady? Three days ago, why didn't you notice the car behind you before you backed up? Sigh.

Hey don't look at me, I always vote for a good one, it's all of them keep screwing it up. I think it'll be funny (thought not very likely) if I vote for Ron Paul again.

But seriously ita, nobody should ever have to go to the er by herself if it can be avoided. At the very least you shouldn't feel bad calling for backup if you are not getting the treatment you deserve when you have to go on your own.
