"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

oof. ita, I'm so sorry.

My mom, who is staying with us, not only got into a minor ding accident in my car, but today, she left the lights on running the battery down. Cue slapstick music. When I tell her this she says, "Well, why didn't you notice it before you left?"

Seriously lady? Three days ago, why didn't you notice the car behind you before you backed up? Sigh.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Ugh, ita. I'm sorry everything is so screwed up.

ION, I need to step away from the CSPAN. My state is after Super-Duper-Mega-Power Tuesday, so it's not like I have a meaningful decision to make. But...it's so strangely addictive, all these rallies and town hall meetings!

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

can you guys elect a good one this time?

Hey don't look at me, I always vote for a good one, it's all of them keep screwing it up. I think it'll be funny (thought not very likely) if I vote for Ron Paul again.

But seriously ita, nobody should ever have to go to the er by herself if it can be avoided. At the very least you shouldn't feel bad calling for backup if you are not getting the treatment you deserve when you have to go on your own. Please send me a gmail (I'm lagarat) if I can send you my cell phone number in case of a future emergency.

Our wings are not tired.

We are the week before Super Tuesday, but our votes won't be counted toward the outcome because we wouldn't have the primary later and the party is mad at us. Chances are people will still notice how Florida votes, it just won't count. Then again I can't promise we'll count the votes right anyway.

I went to a will/estate planning seminar. Now I'm totally freaked out.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Laga, it's a psychological stupidity that put me there myself. I tried expanding the list of me-takers, but somehow it ended up making the trips worse due to stupid tension I'd put on me,

It's totally not for lack of kind people that I go alone. People are great.

Kat, I discussed wills and all that with my sister when she was here. I think I freaked her out, but even though I was pushing the discussion I came out of it weirded out myself. But now I have a better idea of what my parents want.

What's your next move, Kat?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Political stuff:

Obama Soars In New NH Poll; Was Tied With Clinton Yesterday

With two days to go until the New Hampshire primary, a new CNN/WMUR poll out Sunday afternoon suggests that Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois has opened up a double digit advantage over New York Sen. Hillary Clinton in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination.

God Said Ha!: Pat Robertson Suggests Divine Forces Aligning Against Giuliani

But at least one entity is still talking about Giuliani. And that's God, apparently! The Creator recently spoke to cornpone religious zealot Pat Robertson about what a fool he was to endorse Giuliani, and Robertson, in turn, went on Hannity and Colmes to sit there in a heavy-lidded, giggly stupor and relate this embarrassing comeuppance at the hands of the Almighty to the world. You've got great surrogates, Rudy!

ita, The long and short of it. For me, obviously, what I need to do is think most about guardianship for Noah and Grace.

But, if I were kidless, I think the big question would be around Advanced Directives (since my assets are well below the threshold for probate).

Anyhow, we have a consultation scheduled with this guy.

GF and I did wills and a trust last year and it was creepy. All the death questions gave me the heeby jeebies (sp?). I'm glad to have it done, though.

I kinda' don't wanna talk about Bush anymore... but just in case anyone's curious what a complete ass our president is making of himself for the foreign press: [link]
