What should I do, then? Send her a gift? Sacrifice? … Unholy fruit basket?

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

It's the intangible hope-filled quality that makes me choose him

Yep. If I didn't believe that he's the real deal it wouldn't matter, but he inspires a hope that I haven't felt since Bill Clinton's inauguration speech.

My biggest concern about Hillary is that she wouldn't be able to accomplish anything due to all the irrational Repub hatred (of her) that is out there.

I skipped the 1st half of the debate last night. Were the Republicans on a first name basis the way the Democrats were?

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Huh. That comment pings me in the exact opposite direction - it sounds like the same old misogynist bullshit that's for some reason acceptable when it's about Hillary Clinton. ("I don't hate strong women! Just women like Hillary Clinton. And my wife agrees! I totally have a wife, which proves I'm not a chauvinist asshat!")

Yeah, me too.

Me three. (But I doubt it surprises anyone that I agree with Jess and Plei.)

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Big Wikipedia list: List of common misconceptions

Most of these I knew. Lots of historical and sciency stuff....

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I don't really care that Obama is the most charismatic. I want somebody that can hit the ground running. Somebody with proven competence. Obama hasn't done anything. He hasn't shown he'll be able to manuever in Congress, or exhibit statecraft. Zip. He's a freshman Senator. Being smart isn't enough. I don't want somebody learning on the job in the White House. How about we vote him for Prom King instead?

I've been disappointed in Hilary for a while. She's way less savvy than Bill, but has the same baggage and is sometimes too expedient. And I don't like her on Iraq.

I know at the very least that Edwards is accomplished. He knows more than how to campaign.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I'm beginning to suspect that 2008 is going to be my year of the universe's petty revenge.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I hate to interrupt the serious discussion, but I just saw a trailer for Rambo. I think I also saw a glimpse of Julie Benz. Isn't Sylvester Stallone like 80?

Amazing and freaky rain-caused accident: [link]

There's this huge manhole cover in the middle of a highway. All of a sudden a huge geyser of water comes spewing out....

Now tagless for your comfort.

Vortex, that is Julie Benz--she plays an American in jep and I think Stallone is in his 60's at least.

I just read the tagline for the film--"Heroes never die, they just reload." *Gag*. Stallone directed and co-wrote it.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Good god! That is one freaky geyser!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Holy crap!
