Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I usually just go where hec or Juliana suggest. Sorry.
Trudy - where are they? It's hard to find a BAD seafood place in this town, unless they're in the touristy areas.
I think he's in the Mission
I just spent the past few hours poking around the Comcast OnDemand menu, and found that I actually like the new Lifetime show "How to Look Good Naked." Carson Kressley does occasionally do his annoying "funny" schtick, but when he's being one-to-one with the featured woman, he's very personable and real.
The show itself is a great concept (which I found out here was bought from the BBC, of course) which the first two women weren't completely told about before they began. They know about the whole "learn to accept yourself as you are now" part of the show, but they don't know about the nude photo shoot at the end (I think that they were probably told that the name of the show was "How to Look Good," leaving the last word out) until he springs it on them. The first woman, Layla, really goes through a wonderful ego boost, but takes some talking to convince her to do the shoot nude. The other one was all "Sure!!" It's very touching watching these women learn to see themselves as they are now and see themselves as sexy, beautiful women. I think I'll be watching this show if it's on while I'm flipping channels, but I don't think it'll be appointment TV for me.
Oh, and in other OnDemand menu stuff, I love this description for the TV miniseries of "The Stand": "Ooops. A government lab just released a deadly virus. Everybody's dead. All accept [sic--grr, Comcast should spring for a proofreader] these two groups of people: The "good" side. And the "bad" side. Now, let's see who wins."
