See, this is something I've come across enough (leaving money out, finding it there when I return in the evening) that I've just defaulted to leaving it at the end.
And, seriously, if I leave money out and it's gone when I come back, I'm probably not going to be happy. And I'm guessing most hotel staff are super careful about that kind of thing anyway. Not a situation where you want to assume, you know?
Most decent hotels I've stayed in have had a small envelope in with all the other brochures/room service menu/etc. that tend to be on the bureau/desk/table in the room. If you leave a tip in the envelope each day, they'll put a new envelope in the room when they clean it.
YAY! I get to see my nephew for Easter! I get to see other people too, but really, the nephew is the most important!
Awww, looky there: [link]
Super Lu!!
Eta: I finally have a minute to catch up a little in Bitches, and now I have to leave because I must upload a pic of Bay to the Pedigree site.
Hmph!

If there isn't an envelope, I write a small note that says, "Housekeeping, Thank you" with the tip money.
I am one who want to leave a tip, but I forget more often than I should. And not for a one night unless I need some extra stuff.
always flats and slip ons - I hate wearing shoes on planes.
Tomato juice on planes- it is better than juices( no sweet/sour after taste) ,no caffeine ( I get up enough thank you ), and water sometimes doesn't quite quench my thirst.
Even if I buy things for officemates - it might not ever get their.
good thing for today: we did this three month long voluntary course at the library on web 2.0/library 2.0 -and as a finish reward I have this cute little ipod shuffle.
timelies!
Conference is going well but I wish I had more time to do everything I wanted while here! My cab driver today offered to give me a whole tour of Chattanooga and not charge me for it because I was "cute" and a "starving artist". I don't know if I should be flattered or creeped out. He even gave me his card if I needed help tomorrow. (that was a bit creepy). Spent time with my Grad school friend, good times, and got envited to go out with a really cute guy who is a professor at the school I got my Master's from.
I'm being good, though, and remembering I have to be out of the hotel and ready for an interview by 7am (ugh). 8am I meet with the scholarship committee, and I really hope they pick me! I'm also hoping they will overlook my friend not sending my letter of rec until last week
(sill mad about that). One of my students wrote me a letter of rec (she had heard me frantically trying to solve the situation last week.) She went home and, unsolicited, wrote the committee a letter and asked me to deliver it to them. She let me read it...it was absolutely the sweetest thing I have seen in a long time. Darn those kids!
Aw, I just got an e-mail from a college friend I haven't heard from in a year or so. She's going to be in town in a couple weeks and wants to get together. We weren't close personal friends, per se, so I find it really nice that she finds me someone worth keeping in touch with.
Yesterday we sat down to play and I had rolled up a dwarf ranger named Garrie. My friend brought an elf mage named Gyjax.
