I don't have a lot of "hanging out" friends in LA (sometimes because of working opposite schedules), which bums me out sometimes. But I have so many good people in my life that I feel very lucky.

Someone tell me something happy to inspire me?I'm home. Have been for some time. Been skimming and snoozing while watching recorded Yankee game from this morning. Yay baseball is back! The tests went well. No drugs were used that can kill me, which was my big fear, being put to sleep and all. Much happier now. They took some samples, and observed too much acid in my stomach, so gave a prescription for Aciphex. But what ever they took samples of does *NOT* appear to ba tumor/cancer types of things. So ... YAY!
Key KT, I'm hopeing to have some time this weekend. Maybe we can chat, watch a dvd and chill a bit? Have to play it by ear tho.

almost forgot, my local NPR is doing a giveaway for a Macbook Air today. So I gave a little booster cash to my membership so I could be entered into the drawing. :: crosses fingers ::
My cousin's oldest son (I think he's 10) just got his own e-mail address, and he has taken to e-mailing me to tell me I should come visit and asking how school is going and stuff. It's so adorable.
I just got an email that another grad student and I are co-winners of our department's outstanding grad student prize this year! Email says,
More important than the cash award that goes with this prize is the recognition that it represents; also, this is a very nice item to have on your CV when you apply for jobs.
No mention of how much the cash prize is, though.
