[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

{{{{{sorella}}}}} I'm sorry, hon.
So I have worked nonstop since I got here at 7:30, including straight through lunch, and I now have three girls coming in for a make-up test. I AM SO HUNGRY I CAN'T SEE STRAIGHT.
The good news is that I have finished re-reading and writing discussion questions for the rest of The Odyssey.
The bad news is that I haven't had time to write a single comment today. My goal was to finish ten. But my blood sugar is too low to concentrate to write any right now, and I can't get food until after this test. And then I'd kind of like to go home since ND leaves for another three weeks tomorrow morning. GARGH. KRISTIN NOT HAPPY. KRISTIN SMASH.
This is the blood sugar talking, not me. I swear.

Today has turned out relatively calm. I'm pleasantly surprised.
Once again my belief in the inherently bloodthirsty nature of the universe's balance has been borne out. Hubby is, as I type, up in a hospital room, admitted for a blockage of his bowel. They're hoping they can clear it up with drugs, otherwise it's surgery.
I was waiting for the other shoe that came with the Social Security settlement. Hopefully it won't all have to go to hospital bills.
Thanks, everyone. She was an amazing woman who deserved a long, long life. I was very lucky in the coworker department. We were in almost constant communication on a daily basis, and if it would have been someone much less pleasant, my life would have been hell.
(I feel I'm not getting my point across, but every time I rewrite that last sentence, I mangle the intent more and more.)
I'm going to miss her.
Vortex, please tell me your day got better yesterday? I'm behind in LJ and I skipped some posts here earlier.
Sunil, there are a lot of times when I read it that way too. Of course, there are other times when the first thing that pops into my head is "Most Favored Nation-law," but that may just be my International Relations quirk.
edit: Susan, I'm glad they haven't started throwing things yet.

Damn, connie. I hope they clear the obstruction quickly and non-surgically.
Oh, Connie. I was hoping for only one shoe. I hope they can clear it up quickly.
Oh lord, Connie. That man. (I know, he doesn't do it on purpose.)
Fingers crossed for your aunt, Trudes. I hope it's as managable as cancer gets.

Yes, I went the the DC bar open house, had a drink there and flirted with some guy, then dinner with one of my best friends.
Connie, I'm so sorry. The universe is being really lame.
Trudy, health ~ma to your aunt and coping~ma to you.
ETA: Vortex, very glad that things got better.
