Vortex, please tell me your day got better yesterday? I'm behind in LJ and I skipped some posts here earlier.
Yes, I went the the DC bar open house, had a drink there and flirted with some guy, then dinner with one of my best friends.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Health~ma for connie's DH and Trudy's aunt. I was really hoping there would be no other shoe this time, connie. A little uncomplicated good fortune couldn't possibly unbalance anything too much after everything y'all have been through.

Damn connie, I hope it is quickly resolved.
{{Maria}} I'm sorry for your loss.
Lots of ~ma headed for your aunt, Trudy.

I just visited Jo and she seemed somewhat better. She purred and I even got her to eat, which they said has been difficult. It was hard to leave her. I think I'll visit again later.
OK, we need good news in here. And I'm happy to say I just got some.
So, last night I got the bill from my little hospital visit of a few weeks ago. Nearly $11,000. Yikes. I was like, "oh, insurance covers it, they say we have great insurance". I read down thru the list of charges... I owe $500. Yikes. I mean, compared to $11,000, not bad, but still, that's a lot of chips.
Since the amount I owe seemed such a random and round number, I innocently ask our benefits person "Oh, hey, do we have a deductible for hospital stay?"
"we have a self-deductible"
"Whats that mean?"
"Did you get a bill?"
"Yes"
"The theater takes care of the deductible for you. You can bring it in, or pay it if you want."
"Um, I'll bring it in."
Whew! Dude! That's awesome! Just dodged a $500 bill. Thank you Empress for declaring a good day! All your fault! Please do again, especially tomorrow. I go in for more tests tomorrow. Ones they gotta knock me out for, which makes me nervous. So... yes, declare tomorrow good too.
