Connie - that's excellent news!!! (I can't believe my skipping and skimming had me missing it earlier.) Take a deep breath and relax just a bit.

Spike's Bitches 39: Cuppa Tea, Cuppa Tea, Almost Got Shagged, Cuppa Tea...
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
that's too funny. I once greeted a box of Thin Mints with a plaintive cry of, "samoas".Also, Laga is me.
So...after phone calls, emails, and a soul-sucking drive through clogged downtown LA, I retrieved the final recommendation letter from sick!colleague and rushed to the post office. The sucker has been MAILED.
KT, that is wonderful news! (well not the sick colleague and soul sucking drive)
Thanks for the encouragement WindSparrow
Great news, connie!
On the subject of Thin Mints:
Once in high school my boyfriend at that time brought me a box of thin mints all wrapped up with a bow and everything. I don't think I shared many of the cookies with anyone other than him; however, I do remember showing everyone the "super sweet" gift my boyfriend had brought me!
Yay, Kristin! That's great news. crosses fingers
Oh! car~ma for TCG!
Home from the ER with Toto. He has antibiotics, but we won't know if it's a UTI until Monday. But, crossing fingers that it's not anything more serious.
hooray Kristin - application-success~ma! and car~ma for TCG.
Good health to toto VW!
I have a new TJs meal - artichoke raviolis with artichoke spread (not sure about that - it was in a jar, has artichokes...) as a sauce. Yum. Muchas gracias d!
Poor Toto. Hope he gets better soon.
Ya KT! Will keep fingers crossed as well. I look forward to the jubilation as you get accepted.
So, question for the wise ones of the group. Back when my schedule wasn't so fubar'd, I was known to bake. Nothing fabulous or fancy, mind you, but bake. So the question is... if I have loads of flour that have been in sealed vessels, does the flour go bad? And with flour being a staple ingrediant and all, what are some simple yummy recipes to use said flour. Key being simple. Also that don't need egg or milk, as I don't stock those. Impossible? Maybe some little bread things or something? I dunno.
I'd start stocking eggs, if you want to bake, Omnis--they do keep for a long time, really...I don't think most recipes I use (cookies, cakes, etc) use milk, though. I don't do savory baking like bread, though, so dunno...
I had a fabulous evening chez Sox - including episodes of Torchwood, which I had not seen before.
I am an artichoke-lovin freak, so artichoke raviolis topped with artichoke antipasto is a little slice of heaven.
Yay for good connie news, and for done mailed is good application news. Hopefully Toto will feel better, and boot to the head for Gadget Girl's slacker friend. May that not affect your chances of being chosen for the scholarship.
