I don't understand why your parents would be pressuring you given the severity of your illness.
Because they know the reality of the money situation. They want to see me graduate...not get this far and have to quit.
'Underneath'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Usually you can always GED federal loans, right?
Yeah, but that will only cover the tuition, not any living expenses.
YAY! I am done with my author project!!
Well heck. K-Bug has been sick with a cold or something since last Thursday. She has tried to stay away from my mom. With all the immuno-suppresants she is on for her transplant, getting sick isn't cool. Well, I guess mom isn't feeling well today and she is blaming K-Bug. And being grumpy aobut it.
Makes me glad I'm at work away from the home drama, but come on - with a family of 5, someone is bound to get sick at one time or another - it happens. Plus mom was out at a birthday party yesterday. Maybe someone there was ill....
Grumble, grumble, grumble.
vw - What everyone else said. I love you and you need to get well. If you don't you really won't graduate. SMOOCH - but from far away so an not to catch the germies. Hee hee.
I'm just wondering... did you ever wind up using disability services, vw?
I mean, if there were anyone in need of occasional accommodations!! (There always seem to be too many repeated letters in that word.)
Anyway. Best of luck to you, and much rest one way or another.

I haven't for several semesters. And they won't be able to do anything at this point. When I was having all the trouble with asthma, they couldn't do anything but ask the profs to work with me, but it was up to the profs. And then, in that case, I ended up withdrawing from everything anyways. They don't really have policies and practices in place for the kinds of "issues" I tend to have with not making it to class.
Argh. It'd be nice if they could, I don't know, certify you as someone who has proven her trustworthiness about these things.

Actually, Joyce, the Honors Coordinator, does that for me a lot. Unfortunately, she doesn't know either of my profs this semester--one of them is brand new (and won't respond to my e-mails, which is quite frustrating) and the other is known as being a hard-ass about attendance.
There is something very wrong with the world when someone who works as hard as vw can't take time for needed recuperation from serious illnesses without endangering the outcome of all that hard work. Dammit.
