Argh. It'd be nice if they could, I don't know, certify you as someone who has proven her trustworthiness about these things.
Spike's Bitches 39: Cuppa Tea, Cuppa Tea, Almost Got Shagged, Cuppa Tea...
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Actually, Joyce, the Honors Coordinator, does that for me a lot. Unfortunately, she doesn't know either of my profs this semester--one of them is brand new (and won't respond to my e-mails, which is quite frustrating) and the other is known as being a hard-ass about attendance.
There is something very wrong with the world when someone who works as hard as vw can't take time for needed recuperation from serious illnesses without endangering the outcome of all that hard work. Dammit.
vw would it be possible to ask your doctor to contact your school? If you are under doctors orders that may help get you the time off you need.
It's ok. It'll all work out one way or another.
Let's talk about something more fun. Like the Firefly marathon!
I'm happy there's a Firefly marathon, even though I'm at work and therefore not watching. I feel like somewhere a new Firefly fan is being born AIFG!
Watching Ariel. Mal just clocked Jayne with a wrench.
My kids are finally behaving enough for me to enjoy it.
Mal just clocked Jayne with a wrench.
It was a thing of beauty.
And I don't mean to be dismissive. I really appreciate everyone's thoughts and support, and I'm looking at tomorrow's schedule and trying to make some changes. I think I may e-mail all the Eng 101/102 profs I'm supposed to meet with (and visit their classes) tomorrow and Thursday and tell them that I've been sick and am unable to meet with them or visit their classes--I'll drop off the tutoring flyers in their boxes and they can pass them out. That will cut out some stuff tomorrow and Thursday.

Say "I have pneumonia and respiratory syncytial virus," not just "I'm sick." Because I'd think that the profs, themselves, don't want to catch anything from you.
Or use the term "Black Death." That tends to get the point across.
{{{vw}}} I really want to kick a system in which you have to make these difficult decisions and have all these worries. Best of luck with everything, and the offer to come there and help out is always open.
Is the Firefly marathon on the Sci-Fi channel?
