Where's the praising and extolling of my virtues? Where's the love?

Spike's Bitches 39: Cuppa Tea, Cuppa Tea, Almost Got Shagged, Cuppa Tea...

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

But no work for me this weekend.

Interesting day today, too. Part of why I was there so late was because I had some really interesting meetings that put me behind on some non-interesting but time sensitive stuff. One with our Chief Diversity Officer, and one with the head of our sustainability practices. So we've got some new initiatives going forward that should be really cool, and only one of them involves 6 am conference calls with Singapore. Whoot!

Hivemind wedding planning question: What's the deal with this "hot new trend" in photo-journalistic style wedding photography- so hot that she can't find a more traditional photographer. My friend who had the corset question, her next challenge is pictures. It's not that she objects to candid shots, but she wants a hefty chunk of portraits of her, the wedding party, and the families, plus a few candid shots, assembled in a proper wedding album. Apparently that's gone the way of the betamax in favor of magazine style storytelling albums.

Any hints on how to find a good, old fashioned wedding photographer rather than a personal paparazzi?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

WS - Personal recs are the best way to go. And while photo-journalistic is hot, any photographer worth their fee will get the pictures the bride and groom want, not what the photographer thinks is awesome. Have her make a list of the portriats that she wants and give it to the photographer.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Andi, look for well-established photographers that have been in business for a long time--those guys usually tend to run towards the conservative, portrait type photos. Ask around locally--call places and ask them what kind of styles they favor.

Honestly, ANY photographer should be willing to take the pictures that the PEOPLE WHO ARE PAYING THEM WANT.

And I am done with homework for the night. (Suzi - these assignments were due tonight. I'm with you.)

Still to do this weekend:

* Complete author project due Monday night.
* More discussion answers.
* Do take-home quiz due Wednesday night.
* Post three more book annotations.
* Respond to four other book annotations.
* Observe listening styles of co-workers and write about observations.

And then next week is week 8 for my U of P classes and then the week after is Spring Break for my community college which means I'll be spending it working on my finals for U of P classes, although I'm half tempted to hire out my term paper. I won't, but I'm tempted. I just need to pass the damn class. Just pass it so I can move the eff on.

vw, I am amazed that you're even considering adding to your load. Jeebus, don't you ever sleep!

I hope you heal quickly. Take good care of yourself and ssssllleeeeeeeep.

By the way, I noticed where you mention your counselor seeing your records. Actually, I copied it, but it seems to have slipped away. Anyway, I've always been kind of amazed by your access to and coordination of care, and even so, I was surprised. I don't think I've ever seen this before, and was wondering if it's fairly standard there, or something that you set up purposefully, or because of a program you're in?

I currently have Hedwig's Theme from Harry Potter

I initially parsed this as Hedwig's "Theme from Harry Potter" and was very confused, as I didn't remember that from Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

I did exactly the same thing. What a look of puzzlement, if anyone could have seen it.

Forget the sticks - it's OMNIS WITH A FACE! YAY!!

I'm glad someone else asked for pics, because now I get to see them!

Ah-ha. Finally found a new ringtone. The theme to the Jetson's. Me likely. Have it programmed for calls from the family.

Aimee and Cash, thanks for the input. I'll pass it on.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

Tonight I went to Atlantic City. For an interview. Quite interesting, we'll see if anything comes of it. Could be good money, could be a PITA, could be nothing at all.

All I know is that it is Far Away. I thought it was supposed to be like 45 minutes. Turns out NSM.
