Sox, I am not in a mood to stop by this afternoon. We'll have to catch up later. I'm still in fester fester fester, rot rot rot mode.
completely justified, and we're fine, just sos you know. This afternoon's production of Toddlers On Ice was pretty darn funny. She spent about 3 minutes on the ice and (this is a kid who ice-skates on the front hall floor, in her bedroom, on the sidewalk yesterday) yelled "THIS IS REALLY HARD!!!" Then decided she liked the ice-hockey foosball table in the break room better. Still, she wanted to go back out again, just to see.
We'll look forward to seeing you soon.
VW, take care of yourself.
I love the E & the B, btw. Also, damn good threat.
Sparky could have used something like that today it seems.
I now own the bumpersticker. and a mug from another spot. heh.
what?
How about a beagle? Aimee and I each have one. It saves on capital expenditures.
edit: Why thank you, Sox. I aim to terrify.

Lighters! Is Maria a smoker, too?!
::sits closer to Maria. gropes her happily::
Y'all are making me wish I was an East-Coaster right now.
Lighters! Is Maria a smoker, too?!
Uh huh. I quit once, and law school got me going again. At least I've gone from a pack and a half a day to a pack every 2-3 days.
::revels in the grope-age::
Heh, java. There are times when I wish I was a West Coaster.
I currently have Hedwig's Theme from Harry Potter
I initially parsed this as Hedwig's "Theme from Harry Potter" and was very confused, as I didn't remember that from
Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
Y'all are making me wish I was an East-Coaster right now.
beckons javachik enticingly
Wow, I don't have many pictures of me with the sticks. Most are head shots, and the sticks aren't that tall.
I use forearm crutches. Here is a shot at a friends graduation. You can see the cuffs of the crutches in this shot (and a smiley face)!

This is a distance shot. But it shows the full crutches and all.

but how do you carry the bag?
Depends on the bag. First choice of bag is knapsack, cuz they stay put on the back. Not good for food shopping thou. For that I have a Trader Joes thermal bag that I hook onto the handle of the crutch, and a couple Ralphs fabric bags that I hook on the cuffs. The Ralphs bag handles are just long enough that I can have them hooked on the cuff, and I can steady the bag with my pinkie so it doesn't flop flop around with each step. The TJ bag handles aren't quite long enough. I can do it, but it really hurts the pinkie. I'll try to snap pics of the antics when I get home if you want.
Basically, the crutch is carrying the weight. I still gotta lift the crutch and all, but that's how I do it. I can carry an interesting amount of stuff with a couple fingers while still using the crutch. Which has given mee rather strong, adroit fingers.
Forget the sticks - it's OMNIS WITH A FACE! YAY!!
Cell Phones!
I almost forgot. A couple years ago I was designing (sound) a show for a director who is rather clueless. It was set in England. And there was a bit with the cell phone going off. The director, being the ass that he was, insisted that it had to be the ring-ring.....ring-ring... cadence like a landline. I tried to explain to him that the cell would be anything the user wanted it to be. He didn't believe me. So I posted the question to a Sound Designers users group, and asked the Brit folks to confirm, so I could show dorko director. Of course a MILLION stories came out, and this was my fav. An older lady on the tube (didn't specify age, but not some young rebel). In an escalating tone and volume coming from her purse "answer the fucking phone...Answer The Fucking Phone... ANSWER THE FUCKING PHONE!". She fumbled and fumbled and couldn't get it out in time, the whole while blushing and apologizing.
