Spike's Bitches 39: Cuppa Tea, Cuppa Tea, Almost Got Shagged, Cuppa Tea...

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Seriously. But being an entrepreneur, he has to know that asking someone to give away the key to the vault is ridiculous. Literally, worthy of ridicule. But you know what? Depending on who he tries that crap on and how we weilds it, I'm going to bet it sometimes works.

I once asked a group of male coworkers about sleazy pickup lines. "That can't work...can it?"

I'll never forget the regretful look on one fellow's face as he said, "You'd be amazed.

In your client's eyes, I suppose, it can't hurt to ask...or even to be a bully. If he's bolting (stupid him) then he must not be concerned about your bridge closing to him. He'll regret it, I predict.

hah. not bolting at all. I might though. This was actually round two - I'd said 'no' to this in November. Last night was the "I'm really annoyed because you've completely shut me down" rant, during an event. This, after four months of no response to my "I'll be happy to walk through this with you and see what else we can do..." email.

feh.

can you tell me what "direct goal-setting support stuff" is? I'm interested, just want to make sure I understand.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

He seems to think she's an extremist, and this country needs someone more in the center than out on the fringes.

You should tell her that Anne Coulter's publicly said if McCain is the nom she's voting for Clinton "because she's more conservative" and watch the ensuing cognitive dissonance make his brain explode.

Hippo birdies to the birthday folks!

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Happy birthday, Kristin!

Happy birthday, Maria!

GF and I get each other a little something for Valentine's (and Easter and Halloween), but it's something small (like around $20) and may not even be holiday-themed. I'm giving her Nosferatu this year.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Happiest of Birthdays to the Lovely Kristin and Maria!!

Or to the Lovelies, Kristin and Maria.

Just to be clear on the degree and/or scope of loveliness.

I'm so gronked. Some lose pronouns, I babble. The gronk, it is many and varied.

I have very little to add to the V-Day discussion, having only been coupled on the day in question...once, I think. Though, my Best Friend and I have officially been Valentines for about 15 years now, and I must say the arrangement has turned out nicely. Another girl doesn't forget, has no problem buying silly things that will make you smile, etc. (And yikes, I've really gotta get her gift in the mail today!) Another friend who is local has decided to put together a dinner Thursday for those of us who are uncoupled - to celebrate the anniversary of the Day that Arizona was Admitted to the Union, officially.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm getting TCG a bottle of scotch for Valentine's Day, if I can convince myself that I need to go out in this cold weather. I think he's getting me a robe. We're also using Valentine's Day as an excuse to go see a play, Richard III, and go out to dinner on Saturday.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

We had an awesome V-Day dinner a few years ago (on the 13th of Feb). French, five course. There was a delay seating us (we had reservations), so they gave us a bottle of wine. Nice view of Puget Sound, excellent food.

Pretty much impossible to top that, really.

So we don't even try.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Joe is getting an evening to himself for Valentine's Day. It's the best gift for him since he's home with Em most of the week now. Em and I will be off to the library.

I get to meet with parents for Valentine's Day! Yaaaay!

ETA: Not, I should point out, mine. If it were mine, I wouldn't mind.
