There is a NASTY norovirus (stomach bug) going aroung NYC right now - ER visits for vomiting and diarrhea are almost double what they were last year around this time. I had it right after Christmas and it was No Fun. It took about 3 days to work itself out of my system.
Well, a gathering is brie, mellow song stylings; shindig, dip, less mellow song stylings, perhaps a large amount of malt beverage, and hootenanny, well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny.

There's a vomiting bug going around my office here too. Most people fell to it over Christmas but two more people have called in today. I'm hoping I miss it by virtue of working downstairs away from the open-plan germ-sharing area.

I currently count five people in the boarding area that are wearing flipflops. And there are at least two other people missing socks. I'm not sure what this says about us...either we're really smart packers--keeping room for more swimsuits--or really stupid to be out in 1 degree F temps without socks on.
