Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

Erin, that sucks. Yay wheels, at least. Good luck with the groping. I continue to be annoyed and frustrated on that front!

I cannot seem to have a straightforward conversation with the GILF. And we aren't ever alone to have it, which is part of the problem. I usually avoid having a talk, but at this point I'm so annoyed at her...gah.

That said, I had a fabulous time dancing with many people tonight. Including this gorgeous tall blonde with an accent. I mean, she's way too femme for me, but I can still appreciate that she's super hot.

Gronk. Stupid sleep patterns.

Very cool dress, Fay.

I'm hungry. I have very little food here. Just ate some apple slices with almond butter.

Thank you! Having worked in an office, and loathed that whole suit-wearing/smart-casual thing, I do love the flexibility I have about what I wear to work these days. And, more than that, I love how often we have days where one's supposed to dress in some special fashion - Indian gear for Divali, Chinese for Chinse New Year, Thai for Songkran and for Loy Khatong, International for International Day, team colours for Sports Day...it's nice!

Also - how is the almond butter, Hil? I bought some the other day, but haven't yet used it for anything.

Erin, I really have no words. I can only imagine how awful that must be.

Aww, Fay. I want to have costumes at work!! Now I'm jealous!

1. I miss you

Miss you too, Vortex!!

2. GET SOME.

Hah! Well, K will be here on Friday. So there are definitely plans for that.

I love almond butter. My usual use is almond butter and apricot preserves sandwiches -- kind of a grown-up version of peanut butter and jelly. Also good for just putting a spoonful on a plate and scooping it up with apple slices. Also just discovered a great recipe, which I modified a bit to make a really easy side dish: peel and cut up a sweet potato and boil until softish. Mash it with a potato masher, then mix in about a tablespoon or so each of orange juice and almond butter. Then throw in cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger to taste.

That sounds yum!

I have just finished off a chocolate/raspberry shake, and am trying to work out its carb content. But, damn, it was teh yum.

Hey, you get costumes any time you fancy, miss Drag King!

meara - Feb 08, 2008 10:32:54 pm PST #5892 of 10001

But there's no drag kings here, Fay! And they canceled the shows in DC, because the stupid alcoholic beverage commission has their panties in a wad about the club having an entertainment license (after it's been having drag shows for at least 15 years?) or some nonsense.

Oh, did I mention my new Egyptian officemate getting to see snow for the first time a few weeks ago? She came into the office with this totally overjoyed look on her face and said, "It's beautiful out there!" (Possibly the first time the word "beautiful" has ever been used to describe Foggy Bottom.)

From what I've heard the DC Drag King thing is the result of a Dupont Circle neighborhood group filing a complaint about Chaos not having an entertainment licence, because they don't want "that sort of thing" in their neighborhood. (Which leads me to wonder why they're living in Dupont Circle anyway.)

Randomly, last night, I had a dream that I met a really hot British guy and was making out with him, but I wouldn't go any further than that, because we'd just met. It seems that I'm a prude even in my dreams.
