[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

What kind of a job do I want y'all? I'm glad I'm doing this now while I'm not miserable and can be picky-but I feel like I'm all, "No, too far away. Ick! Not a big corporate office! Man, I don't just want to file and answer phones all day. Isn't there an actual interesting industry who could use me?"

And, yes, my diamond shoes were too tight.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Uh oh. I don't know what to do. Am in a new city, staying with friends. One of my dearest friends who is, as they say, "in a delicate condition" has been taken to the emergency room because her late afternoon nausea which turned into evening distress started including blood. I was out of the house when they left, picking up take out for her husband and myself, since cooking in house was out of the question and we were of the hungry persuasion. I came back to a message that they had gone to the emergency room. I tried to head over there (if for no other reason than to drop off dinner) but apparently she doesn't want to "trouble" me and he won't tell me which urgent care center they went to. my inclination was to jump in the car and drive to the nearest possible place to keep them company, but not knowing where that is....well....i cleaned the kitchen. A load of dishes is currently running and i washed all the pots and pans and hand-washables already. Cleaning an ill friend's kitchen seems perfectly normal. But now, while the dishwasher is still running, i am at a loss. Cleaning their living room seems presumptive and somehow rude. Plus, i don't know where the vacuum cleaner is. But i don't know what else to do! Should i storm the nearest hospital? Keep calling and demand directions? Sit on my ass and look at more apartment listings? Arggghhh! I feel like a very, very bad and indecisive friend right now.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Likely they're at OHSU or Providence...

I will keep your friend in my thoughts. I don't really know what you can do to distract yourself while you wait though.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Just sit tight, Erin. It sucks though.

I say look at apartment listings until you get news. Or chat with us.

Wishing for the best for your friend.

Gah, nothing new online. I may just implode. Never been good at waiting.

Oooh! I think the dishwasher may be done! I can unload!
