[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Art Crawl!!!

No, I haven't figured out the knitting. I dropped it only to get further frustrated in trying to set up my new tivo.

Things That Are WRONG Like a WRONG THING:

1) I got asked out tonight by a woman who is old enough to be my mom

2) JCrew swimsuits are cheaper than Lands End ones

3) Target doesn't really sell hardly any one piece swimsuits unless you're plus sized (and while trying on swimsuits is making me feel both enormous and flat chested, I am not yet plus sized)

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Skipping seven zillion posts.

I got my blood test results back from the doctor, finally. Hormone levels are screwed up -- he thinks it's PCOS. Yikes.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Nora, the most recent book that I read that was just curl up on the comfy couch with a beverage and never want to stop was The Thirteenth Tale: A Novel by Diane Setterfield. It was very booky. The main character grew up in a bookstore. It was a very pleasant read.

I saw that in an airport, and it looked really neat. Is it as cool as it sounds?

I'm slowly going through all my blood test results. My vitamin D levels are too low. How does that happen? I mean, I wasn't getting that much sun at the time of the test, because it was winter, but I drink fortified milk/soy milk and take a multivitamin. Also, my iron is too high. Again, how does that happen? My multivitamin is the kind without iron in it, and everybody's always warning that vegetarians won't get enough iron.

Blood chemistry is weird.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Well, but was she hot?

Just finished going through eleven pages worth of blood test results. I have concluded that it's a wonder our bodies manage to function at all.

I've also concluded that my thyroid is just weird. A few months ago, my TSH levels were high, which meant an underactive thyroid. Now, my TSI levels are high, which means an overactive thyroid.

(And also, hormone levels are way off, but that's scary to think about right now, so I'm concentrating on the little things, like the vitamin D and the bladder infection. Because those are things that can go away fairly easily.)

Our wings are not tired.

How do you feel about the doctor, Hil? It sounds like you have lots of data to help with a treatment plan. And yes, the chemistry of the human body, freaky.

I got asked out tonight by a woman who is old enough to be my mom

Both over 21. Do you want to spend time with her?

Is it as cool as it sounds?

It was what I look for in a novel. An interesting world with characters I cared about. The main characters Love books. Family that owns a rare book store and writers. Well paced with mysteries to be solved. Google Books has a preview thing if you want to sample the style. [link] Not too long, not too short. Yes, this was a just right kinda novel for me.
