I like pancakes 'cause they're stackable. Ooo, and waffles 'cause you can put things in the little holes if you wanted to.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Art Crawl!!!

I need knitting help! Things have been going along really well on the baby sweater I'm working on but now I'm confuzzled. The instructions said:

Work across to marker, k4, bind off next 20 sts, k4, slip marker, workt tend. Continue working only on left side of neck. Work for 1" keeping pattern, ending at neck edge.

So far - so good but then it says:

Next row, Cast on 10 sts, knit 14 sts before marker, work to last 4 sts, k4.

There were two stitch markers - one on either side of the neck. When it said to slip marker - I took that to mean that I take the lefthand marker off. So I did. But now - do I knit across the neck to the other side of the neck?

And then:

Continue for 8 rows, keeping garter st at cuff and neck edges, then continue for 2 more inches, keeping only the first and last 4 sts in garter sts and all other sts in stockinette st, ending at sleeve edge.

Is this the thing were once I understand the part that starts with me casting on ten more stitches the last bit will come clear?

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Good Morning {{{Bitches}}}. I felt like I was over my cold except for this nagging cough so this morning I tried some allergy medicine and now I can't stop sneezing. I guess I should have taken anti allergy medicine.

In other news: Why do I find this so jarring first thing in the morning? "... the new [things for work] have been ordered and is being shipped ..." didn't Outlook tell him when he composed the mail that his tenses did not agree?

brillig

but I'm curious to see if they actually continue the Wilson/Amber thing

The question to be resolved is, Does Amber care about Wilson for Wilson's sake, or is he just a road to House? I can't decide if House is being self-centered in interpreting the situation in terms of himself, or if he is worried about Wilson being chewed up and spat out. I'm never sure if House cares about Wilson for Wilson's sake or only in terms of House not wanting to lose his buddy.

Librarian Warlord

Hey Sparky, yes, I AM doing a Yappy Hour event this Saturday, at Chateau Animaux on 8th Street.

Thank you! My parents may be up this weekend, so that may have foiled my plans. I keep trying to convince them to come next weekend so they can puppy sit while we're at a wedding, but it doesn't seem to be working out.

not your mom's socks.

is it justifiable scream-icide if you have an in-home care person that you paid to come in (on top of paying for daycare because of the ick) because your child was running all over the house and not taking a nap and you had to get a ton of work done but instead you were putting someone back to bed every 3 minutes and trying to keep them out of the medicine cabinet? and the in-home care person (formerly known as our Very Expensive Babysitter) was sitting downstairs and talking on the phone and playing on her computer for an hour and a half while that went on?? And did nothing until you said that maybe it was better if the in-home care person went somewhere else to do what she needed to do? Where you didn't have to pay for it?

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

is it justifiable scream-icide if...

I would say that you wouldn't even have to worry about a shallow grave. Call the cops and tell them to pull her body down from the tree upon which you nailed it and when they show up, show them the child.

"You gonna take me in?"

"For this? Nope. Littering only gets you a ticket."

Compassionately intolerant

Wow. I'm not real sure the cat's going to let me at her teeth, though.

It can be rough with older cats, but the Petrodex pet toothpaste (NEVER use people paste or baking soda) is remarkably attractive to the furry beasts.

There are some other products that help too, including 'Plaque Off', which I'm having great luck with.

Bring the 'rents Sparky! You can have dinner at one of the fantabulous restaurants on Historic Barracks Row, visit some of the other 'Second Saturday' events (where galleries and shops stay open later and have wine/cheese/specials) and make an evening of it!

Congrats to the good news recievers! Yay for good fortune.
