[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

The ride to the Bahamas from Miami is crazy noisy and shaky, and a blast.

okay, Laura, your idea of fun and mine are unmatchy! That sounds scary. But float planes freak me out too.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Remember how I posted last week about how TCG and I keep closing down restaurants where we celebrate anniversaries, etc? Well we just exchanged our anniversary gifts, and he wrote me a cute note that said, "let's go close down" the restaurant we're going to tonight. He's too cute.

Our wings are not tired.

Have a wonderful time with cutiehead TCG, sj.

The seaplane experience would scare me to death if it wasn't over water. I'm not afraid of water. The Chalks planes shook so bad when they were taking off on the water that you thought the wings would break off. It could be that the laughter that accompanied takeoff was of the hysterical variety.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Blargggggg

DH chipped the toilet tank lid in our bathroom and I just sliced my finger on it. OUCH ficksticks OUCH.

Now I'm cruising the internet to see if it would be better to replace the lid or the whole tank. Guess which finger I use most when I type...yep, the sliced finger.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

New thread!

We're still in Alabama till Monday, and at this point I'm eager to be back in Seattle. I'm essentially out of books, despite packing a book per day of the trip like I always do (which usually gives me more than enough). I still have two unread books, Diana Gabaldon's Lord John short story anthology and Caridad Ferrer's It's Not About the Accent, but I'm saving them for the flight home. Not that my mom doesn't have full shelves, but her tastes and mine aren't so mixy these days. I nearly went book shopping today, but before I made it that far in the shopping center, I got an "OMG Tornado Watch!" call from Mom and decided to head home to keep her from fretting.

I love my mom and I know she's not going to be around much longer, but I still have such a hard time not fighting with her. I think a lot of it is just the normal tension of an adult child not fitting into a childhood role, but there's also this whole political/religious/racial piece where knowing I can't change her mind doesn't stop me from wanting to argue whenever she makes some sweeping judgment about "all Muslims" or "that's just the Japanese" or whatever.

Oh, and I tried to make pasta for dinner tonight and it turned out TERRIBLE. Major humbling for me.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Oddish day - didn't quite seem to know what to do with it. DH and I went down to the nicer mall and walked around - I think the purpose of the mall was to get me started on lusty thoughts towards the ipod nano. this afternoon seemed to be about plying with computers, napping and reading. He is off at a gig now - the local singer/songwriter has an 'and friends' gig at a local pizza shop. I decided not to go - I get tired of hanging by myself being the groupie. Even when I know most of the people at a gig - somehow I feel like my role s to hear how wonderful Matt is. and he is- but it isn't much of a conversation. And I feel it would look really bad if I went off in a corner and read.

Matt is playing NYE. i am really happy that I might be eating dinner with a couple of people that would be one of my first choices to spend time with.

random musings... Am I the only one who finds it amusing that to make "goddamn" non-obscene (i.e. suitable for broadcast TV) they cut out "god"? And am I the only one who is offended that TV stations bleep out "fuck" but broadcast the "n" word uncensored? Why are we not bleeping the (imo) most offensive word in the english language?

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

I was just going through some friend stuff on LJ, and I noticed the Warm a Bitch group, and went back to look through it. It was so fun reading about the making and getting of blankets, shawls, and the like. I like us best when we're having fun and taking care of each other.

I know that they say you can never go back, but is anyone interested in doing it again? Or something similar, perhaps?
